I made it from Richmond Hill to the Yorkdale area without any trouble. It was kind of funny going around all the stalled/stuck cars with no problems at all.

The Blizzak LM-60 RFTs were amazing in terms of grip. The ride quality was another question. I could feel every single mm of difference on the road. I've had them for a few weeks and they are not bad at normal speeds, but they're horrible when it comes to 5-10km/hr traffic.

I will definately go with non-RFTs when I have to buy a new set.

First winter here with the stock Bridgestone Turanza A/S RFT's and so far so good. Mind you, it hasn't really dipped far below 0 yet so we'll see. If I can't get away in the winters with these, I'll just buy some dedicated winters. Need to pick up some new summer wheels and tires next season!

Yea I decided to go with 18s. 17s would have been a lot safer given our crappy roads but the they look tiny with the xDrive wheel gap

I have 17" winters on my G35 and they look like SUV tires.

Drove from Newmarket to Mississauga via 400 and 407 this morning with no problems at all. Tons of snow and ice up there, but xdrive kicked in yo! I'm very happy that I have xdrive. I feel a greater sense of security now than before with my non xdrive e92.

First time driving RWD in the snow and it was just fine. Fun, actually.... the Yokohama IG20s sliced through the snow, ice, and water as usual.

that depends on when you woke up! i admittedly left for work late and by that time the roads were cleared (both by plows and by previous traffic) and the precipitation changed from snow to rain

I've done it with the stock summers and you're asking for a deathwish. In all seriousness - it's downright dangerous. You can get going no problems, but it is impossible to stop...you'll just keep sliding.

Agreed. My Dad had an E36 M3 with summers on and couldn't even get up the driveway to park in the garage.

But yeah, bare minimum would be to have All-Season tires in the winter.

Yup! I'm driving with Dunlop M3 Winter Sport...it wouldn't be smart if I kept my summer 19's on

I am driving with my 16's all season tires.

I used them last winter and the car had no problems at all.

Just need clarification, do our cars have TPMS?

I am awaiting delivery of my car and want to buy winter tire package. Those of you running winters without RFT. Is it ok? Do you keep a spare tire now?
