Hub Centric Rings or new wheels
Hello all,
I have a quandry regarding my current wheel set up on my 2011 335is. The car came with the 313 18s which I then put on my wifes 2012 X3. I then put on some replica 313 19s on my car but upon first drive my wife slammed into a curb to avoid some idiot running a red light. So those wheels were beyond repair. I ended up putting some Verde Parallax V39s since thats what the wheel place near had in stock and my car is my DD. Problem is the wheels are not hub centric and with the current ring adapters I get the typical steering wheel shimmy/shake from 40 mph and on. So, shall I order these hub centric adapters: http://www.performancealloys.com/spi...ls.aspx?ID=133 and keep the Verdes or... Order BMW hub centric after market wheels such as MRR GT1 or GT7s? Appreciate any and all input as I drive 50 miles round trip each day to go to work. |

I had volks on my car with at 75m bore. And I just got hub rings and 75 --> 72.56 and I was good. I would def check and see if the wheels are properly balanced.

I have summer wheels with 73.1 bore without any hub centric rings and don't feel any extra vibrations. I also have another set with 74.1 bore with hub centric ring and no vibrations. At least i can't feel anything extra
But new wheels is always good idea too.

I am very curious about this. Please explain further. Stock size is 18's, I believe they are the model 189 wheels.
I recently bought new aftermarket wheels and new tires for my 2010 335 Xdrive and from 40-60, the car steering wheel shook badly. I had them balanced several times and each time shaking in the wheel. I changed to another set of brand new tires and still shaking. I sent the wheels back thinking it had to be the wheels. Did I miss something with these hub rings?? They are not on the stock wheels. |
