Painting RGRs - yay or nay?

So, would it be a sin to paint BBS RGRs Blue? I was thinking something along the lines of Volks mag blue, but just a bit darker? I'm guessing it will hurt resale value unless it turns out to look amazing. I want them to be dark enough that they do not SCREAM.

The car is AW if it matters to you.

Dead heat in the polls so far. Dropped by the wheel shop today to pick the color. I'll leave you guessing as to the selection, but here are some shots of the prepped wheels (over 18 only, nude BBS below):

...I'm actually digging the brushed look.

Lol, yeah, but you get what I mean. The bare aluminum look. Obviously "unprotected" was not what I am going for, but these babies look as good naked as they do finished. Hopefully the paint does them justice.

I love how now that they are stripped people are saying "Never!" (And voting double at that) even if the OEM finish is worn.

Blue, no.... I'm thinking of buying the size I want (only avail in gunmetal) and power coating them sliver as soon as I buy them... That is, if tirerack can get it together and get them for me.

Turn the lips on a lathe, leave the centers blasted, then clear? Just a thought

Need a lighter blue than the mag blue though, i would go ford sonic blue, or subaru World rally blue. But i am partial to blue wheels on a white car. As i just put on a set of blue wheels. When do you wanna come check my car out, it might pull you one direction or the other

Way sizes are you guys trying to get? I like silver, but even their silver is truly a hyper silver (silver on white wet on wet then cleared) and I didn't want something that looks too close to the factory without actually being factory (I'm OCD like that). Worst case scenario, I can always re-paint.

I wound up picking the Ford GT Midnight Blue Clearcoat Metallic...
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=818940

I like it because it is very dark in low light conditions, navy ish in medium light and metallic & bright in direct light. Hopefully it provides some good contrast. I'd love to check out your ride though. Where in Nova do you usually spend your time? I'm all, over the place during the day.

I use my car to drive around clients so I can't do anything too loud as some are pretty conservative.

I like the idea but I'd be concerned about durability. I seriously considered polished lip with silver painted center and red centercaps...always a winning look

I see your reasoning and i fully agree with your color choice in that case

Try into get a 18x9.5 et 33.

BBS makes them, but only in the gunmetal color. I really wanted them in sliver. The front size comes in both gunmetal and silver so my issue is only with the rear.

I think I'm going to get the gunmetal, but the first rep I spoke with at tirerack said they couldn't get them. Thank god for Gary on here because he corrected the situation.

A little update for you folks (pardon the crapberry pic)

They aren't 100% finished yet, still some buffing, etc. To do prior to tire mounting. All should be in my hands and hopefully on my car in time for the next cars & coffee
