Cracking and peeling of rubber strip around windshield

Anyone else have this happening to them? It's always garaged when at home but does sit much of the day outside at work. Was there something I could have done to prevent this? Never had this happen on any of my previous cars.

It happened to both my brothers car and mine, both cars have been garaged. It seems to be a fairly common issue for these cars.

I'd replace it as soon a you can, the longer you wait the more the rubber breaks down, my brothers was a sticky mess that took forever to clean properly.

Any recommendations on what type of a shop would do that and what a fair price would be...

It's a $30 part online and it a simple DIY, I've had my E92 for a year and replaced both front and rear.

Its not difficult so no need to pay someone to do it. Just be thorough removing the old strip and be mindful of the paint.

After 9 years, mine started cracking, and small pieces started to come off. Purchased it on ECS tuning I think for $25.00. Had my Indy shop install it while having other work done on my E90.
