Thumbs up Hi Everyone! New Owner Alert!

How do peeps... first post so just saying hi to the forum

On march 4th i take delivery of my E92 335d in Sparkling Graphite with the Red Dakota interior and Dark Grey Poplar trim, on them booootiful 19s - cant wait!

anyway, really looking forward to the change having had performance hondas in recent years (gonna be saying goodbye to a mint Integra Type-R which is sad but hey, onward and upward!)

gone with the Bluetooth, Pro SatNav, Folding Mirrors, and errr... floor mats

i had the smokers kit removed but now feel a bit daft cuz its lost me a useful 12v supply and my phone charger wont fit under the armrest - i'll see if i can get it changed but i doubt it due to the fact that the car is completed and ready to go ( i'm being petty and waiting for the 07 plate )

getting a bit worried as a few threads are talking about some nice new chrome satnav buttons and a couple of extra goodies that will be on new builds, guess i'll have missed out on all that can anyone shed any light?

anyway, good to be here, speak soon when i have piccies

Hi, from another ex Honda owner (2x Preludes & 1x Accord Type R).

Due to a cock up I've got to wait until Mid/end March for my E90 335i, so i will get the new buttons etc. just like the E93.

I think the changes are - Chrome surround Volume on/off button, 8 user-defined buttons for iDrive. Also USB/iPod interface option.

Just interested but why did you go for the 335d and not 335i?

BTW - Have you sold the ITR yet? Can recommend Pistonheads if not, my ATR sold in 9 Days!!!

dvd is for sat nav only. you can add on an aftermarket dvd and play through your screen. looks ace in widescreen.
I've ordered the 335d, can't wait to get mine.

You should see more than 450 miles to a tank in your 335d - 500 if you drive carefully ;-)

In this bad weather I'm averaging 36.2mpg, over a mixture of different journey types. This will probably come down a bit in the better weather - I'm hoping to have more opportunities to unleash the 286bhp and 580Nm (427 lb-ft) of torque... just can't use that kind of power in the wet or on frosty roads we've got lately. In the few small sunny spells we've had, overtaking has been fun ;-)

just making a bit decision at the moment, looking at dropping the order down from 19s to 18s and going with the aero front and rear bumpers... i'm starting to think the 18s actually look better and suit the car a bit better do you peeple agree?

also, i rang beema to ask about then buttons, i dont get any of em but the convenience of those programmed buttons is kinda replaced by the voice functionality i will have with the pro nav is that sorta right? ( need reassurance that i'm not missing out on goodies that kinda stuff keeps me awake at night )

It might be too late to get back your smoker's package. Did you look at the accessory powerpoint that plugs into the glovebox mounted flashlight socket?

Btw congratulations, the color combo sounds awesome!

update... funnily enough, they forgot on my order to remove the smokers pack, so damn me if not one lucky sob

i'm decided, tomorrow i swap the 19s for the 18s (for comfort and looks now i've had a long time to mull over it) and sticking on at least the front aero and maybe the back... depending on cash, do you reckon the front would look unbalanced with the stock back?

I don't think so. What's more important is the proper stance and wheel size to tie all the elements together. Not sure what direction you want to go in. There are some pics of front-lip-only-equipped-E92s around the forum to help you decide though.

Apologies for the ambiguity, I meant I don't think it'd look unbalanced.

Here's a pic of just the front lip. Of course the stance and wheels help.

Cheers

well, just got off the phone with bmw and apparently i'm not allowed to downgrade the wheels so i'm stuck with the 19s...

but i bought the aero front bumper anyway

what are the thoughts on here about the 18s vs 19s? (style, comfort, all that)

My best tank full has been 526miles on 56 litres...over 5300 miles its averaged 40.17 mpg. Since 2500 miles each fill up has been over 40mpg before that I was getting 38.
Note very rare that I drive in town

Sounds brilliant. I'd love a 335d, but I can't decide which bodypart to sell in order to fund it.

Impressive fuel figures, red355. I've averaged 45.0mpg over the last 12500 miles according to my calculations, though that is about 2/3rd town driving.

I averaged between 45 and 46 MPG over 50,000 miles with my 320d with the best ever being 650 miles between fill ups. With the last two 330d (autos) we've only got around 26 to 27 with lots of town driving, (better than the M3 mind you which was just about making 18). My wifes using the car for longer journeys now and it has crept up to over 30. Hopefully the 335d will be even better.

Chris
