I love those 80s era bmw just as much as he does!!
Absolutely love them, i grew up with them, i grew up dreaming/drooling/desiring them... those E21, E30, E28, E36, etc etc etc... 80 and 90s era BMW... where would we be now without them back them !?! They really are the defining models of the genres that we have nowadays! People should be learning to drive in those cars, to learn manual... to truly know what driving is all about!  This is really something... For Chris Harris to make a video on those cars!  This is when the world has gone in the right direction... Did you feel that shift of the Earth... please more people like him... to support cars like that...

So much awesome, Chris Harris is da man. I'm really enjoying all of his videos he does. I really want an 80's Bimmer even more now.

Why go back only to the 80's. I had a 1969 1600. By today's standards it was unbelievably simple with crank windows, a four speed manual, and no air conditioning. It it did not have a lot of power, but it stayed glued to the road.

Cool, I always liked the look of the E28 and E24 for that matter. I'd be interested to know what other cars Chris has owned over the years.

Thanks for the post. Chris Harris' videos are seriously addictive. I ended up spending another hour and half re-watching some of the older ones!
Also, that M5. What a machine! I owned an E34 535 back in the day and I can hear echoes of the M30 straight six in this video! Took me back.

My E28 m5 was the best car I've ever owned. Super fun at the track and autox, small but with big bumpers for street parking, and it could fit 4 people. Way closer to a big e30 than it was to the e34 m5 I had....

That was awesome! The E28 M5 and E30 M3s are the only two M cars I haven't driven yet and I definitely intend to at some point in my life, but the E34 M5 that I got to drive absolutely blew me away. I've spent plenty of time in more modern M cars but the E34 is one of my all time favorites and I bet this E28 is even more special.

A friend at university in the early 90s drove one made in Rosslyn South Africa, his father had brought it into Australia as a private import when they emigrated. That was a properly fast car, especially around round abouts.
