Thumbs down Poor service from Duke Dynamics!

I ordered a quad diffuser for my E90 m-sport from duke dynamics. I thought for the price i was paying for the item i would get a good quality product and customer service.

But to my disappointment i got neither! I had to wait over 2 months till i actually received the diffuser after chasing them endlessly. When it arrived it was cracked is several places and had one major crack at the top of the diffuser. Also the quality of the finishing of the carbon was poor and in some places really bad in exposed sun light there are white marks all over it where the carbon wrapping has not been done properly.

After contacting them to ask for a replacement I was told to make a claim against the courier myself and send them the reference number??? How can a customer claim compensation when the customer is not the party who sent it in the first place? Also due to the delay in receiving the item i can no longer claim a refund on paypal. I was also told to see if I could have the item sent back free of charge by the courier????

I got excuse after excuse saying the new diffuser will take weeks to send out and that i have to make the claim form the courier myself. After a while I got fed up and told Sean at DD that i would take it to my bodyshop to see if they can spray it to cover the areas that were cracked even though the whole point of paying extra for the carbon diffuser is to leave it unpainted.

The body shop saw the damaged parts and said i would have to spray most of the diffuser, so i came back to Sean informing that i want a replacement and have heard nothing since. What a joke!!! I ordered the diffuser in July!!!

That looks like shit. DD is praised by everyone (at least on styling), and I inf fact love their vented e92 hood. But I'll wait to find one used. Terrible.

I'm not one to usually make a fuss but i have exhausted all possible avenues. Thought posting up my disappointment was now warranted. I do love the shape of the diffuser but i have yet to test fit it.

I'm sure there are many satisfied customers that have used DD but not replacing a damaged item and one that clearly has defects from production is appalling customer service .

Sell it at a slight loss and purchase through a middle man. It will save you the headache of going through DD... with that said I offer 300

I wanted to order a CSL trunk from DD but I've seen some bad reviews & complains. So, I just waited for a used one from one of the member here. Atleast, the seller guaranteed the item before I paid him. When I got the trunk, it was in excellent form & nothing I can complain about. Buy one from a middle man.

The OP is from the UK so its possible somehow it got lost in transit? It is their fault not yours.

I remember i bought rims from a fellow member and he made UPS package them and insure them and when they came the boxes had all the rims exposed. I contacted them and they told me it wasn't their fault and they didn't package them. I contacted the seller and he went to the UPS store and contacted corporate and made it right. At the end both parties were satisfied and I got to keep the damaged ( superficial) wheels.

This is from a member and if the company doesn't make it right contact BBB and file a complaint against them.

I would understand if the box the diffuser came in was damaged, but it wasn't damaged at all i still have it. I can't see how the diffuser could have got damaged in transit. All the finishing issues with the product make me think DD just sent the item knowing it was damaged because I kept hassling them to send it as I was waiting for such a long time.

Maybe they thought as I'm in the UK i wouldn't be posting up on here or something. All I know is that i wont be buying anything from them again and i wont be recommending them to anyone.

DD is really hit or miss. I was lucky and didn't have any major issues. They did forget to write down my street number when they couriered the diffuser. Poor delivery man checked about 5 buildings before he finally gave up. Thankfully someone from bimmerkit called me the next day and they sorted out their mistake.

My FRP diffuser fit fine, but I have a friend who had some major fitment issues with his CF. However, they exchanged it in a timely manner. My read of DD is that they are extremely disorganized and not very detailed orientated. I don't think they are purposely trying to screw any of their customers. It seems like OP fell through the cracks, and I hope they sort the issue out quickly and compensate you in some way. Good luck.

The shipping invoice had bimmerkit written on it, even though i purchased it directly through DD. Maybe i will have to call Bimmer kit to see what they say.

Anyway I posted this thread on their facebook page and it has been already deleted!!

I believe bimmerkit is their retail arm.

Well, after I made this thread DD suddenly responded to my emails saying they will send me a replacement ASAP and to remove the thread. Well 1 month later and received nothing! I have given up chasing them, it's like trying to get blood from a stone!

Below is an email I received from duke dynamics. As I have said before they are more interested in this thread than satisfying the customer. I still have no replacement diffuser as I said I won't delete this thread until I received a product I'm happy with.

Me
What guarantee do I have that you will still send the diffuser? You've said you will be sending it for past month!

DD
"You and I know, we won't ship you the diffuser until you have deleted all your negatives comment on the BMW forums. See the attachment photo.

I had my promised I will send you the replacement, even though it not our fault. But you kept making things worst, and you didn't try to delete what we had asked you to do so.
Honestly, what other choice to do you have? Beside making all negative comments on our company. It's your choice, do you want the replacement or keep protesting on our company? it's your call.

Let me know.

Sean"
