His name is Roy, he has a thread up in the photos/videos forum, his build is pretty sweet!
"Single Turbo 335i with just a 3.5" downpipe" is the thread title, he had a link to his blog with pictures and info of the build.

Wonder why he went Borg... aren't they all non-ball bearing?

No, the EFR line comes with ceramic ball bearings but it doesn't look like he is using one of those.

Thats' my car, just got it running last week and started putting some miles on it. Its' only lightly tuned at this point, but drives well enough for me to use it as a DD again.
http://roycormier.net/projects/singl...-e92-bmw-335i/ They're cheap compared to other turbos that'll put out the same amount of power, the price is hard to beat. You can usually find them for a good price if you shop around ($600-$700). I have some wholesale accounts, so I got this one really cheap, brand new from the factory. Some of these will even outspool certain BB units from other manufacturers. This is a good read on Journal vs Ball Bearing, but you'll get different opinions depending on who you ask. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...=1#post8460739

If you can leave black marks on a straight from the time you exit a corner till the time you brake for the next turn....... Then, you have enough horsepower. |

Good luck with the car. That's a lot of work to tackle by yourself. |
