Unfortunately the proposed format for V8 supercars in 2012 is a prototype series where the mechanical specs of the car is highly regulated. It will be even more highly regulated than the current Blueprint format V8 supercars that share many major components between the two chassis types. I agree ... and as much as I'd like to see this come through, I don't think BMW will get their way with running a DTM car. My understanding is the Cotf will basicly all share the same chassis and most teams will collaberate on the running gear and then its "panelled" up to represent a brand. I think BMW or any other brand that is contemplating entering V8 Supercars really need to enter this without tyring to ride on their other motorsport programs.
