Good value, good service, but 9/10 of a BMW. Its that last tenth that can only be decided by a test drive to determine if that BMW feel is important. They are getting very close.

Nice engine with a GREAT exhaust note. Interior fit and finish is nice. Nice wheels. However, compared to a 3er, it is a very big car. Ride isn't quite there yet but is decent.

I'm coming out of an 09 Acura TL, I drove the G37 when I brought the TL, it was between the 2. It felt so much like an Altima/Maxima to me. It's really not even an expensive car anymore. The sticker was like 43K and the dealer was offering like 38k for it. Leasing rates were insanely good. The steering on the sports package was the stiffest I've ever felt in my life. After a 2 hour drive my arm would actually hurt from the amount of pressure needed to move the wheel. Just my 2 cents.

Both very good cars.

G is more roomy inside, but B'mer is going to "feel" better while behind the wheel.

It's up to you. Do you prefer the tight fight response or the comfortable/sporty response.
That's about all I can get it down to. get inside one, drive it around and throw some passengers in it too.

Ask yourself what you really like/dislike
then ask your passengers what they like/dislike.

With passengers in the car
1. light cruising driving
2. then hammer it, madman downtown Dukes of Hazzard fierce
3. then go on the freeway to determine in-cabin noise/comfort

Talk to your passengers while performing the drive.

Jump back into the B'mer and repeat.

You'll get an answer for yourself soon enough.

It's not a science. The dogfers with the pencils behind their ears have gotten that part figured out. The "Joy" category is left to you and I. So, talk to your passengers, talk to yourself and then figure it out.

I had my B6A4 with 300+hp for 8 years + a few days. I loved that car to death. But ultimately, it was too much. I didn't have the time to perform maintenance and wear/tear repairs anymore. I completely understand your frustration with your car always in the shop. It's like you're paying for someone else's problem.

I opted for a Hyundai Tucson, 18K with all options/packages + Hyundai dealerships groveling at your feet (the last part was awkward and unsightly), but all part of the experience I presume. Anyway, I was going to pull the trigger on that car, but I didn't. So here I am.

Go get em'

I'd probably choose the g37. I'm old, slow, and redneck. So knowing me, i'd choose less fighting and more comfort. Then again, that's me.

GL either way

G37 are nice looking, especially with their IPL lineup. Engine is amazing with plenty of torque. Interior is also pretty nice. I'd take G37 over 335i for reliability and longevity.

The g37 is a great car!! My dad has a 2008 g35xs and I drove that for 7 months before I got my 335. The car is really nice, its fast, it handles well and the exhaust note is nice!! Weve had it for 2 years and its never been in the shop! These cars are extremely dependable and are very well built. I would suggest you getting one, or atleast test drive it.

It looks good on paper but once you've been spoiled with a 335i and you get behind the wheel of the G37 I guarantee you won't like it. It simply can't compare with your bimmer.

The g coupe is about the same to me on the inside as my 335. The sedan is much larger.

not too sure on the 37, but I drove a 2005 g35 coupe for about a year. Compared to my 335, it is more sluggish and steering isnt as responsive. It feels like a heavy car. Interior could have been nicer, but I loved the exhaust note.

I was about to buy one before my 2008 335 E92... Had the price negotiated, was ready to sign before said to myself that I had to at least go test drive the E92. I did, and never went back to the Infiniti dealership. They're nice cars, a far superior value, but just cannot compare. The look also hasn't aged very well at all.

That said, if I ever planned to buy (rather than lease) a car and keep it for 8-10yrs, I'd definitely go Japanese -- at least in my experience, the cost of maintaining a European car... well, it sucks. I thought hard about buying a IS350 instead of the 335i I have on order -- again, a bit bland, but a better value -- but it's the last year for the current IS body, and I couldn't stand to drive around in an "old" looking car for the next 7-9yrs. (I suppose I pay for the vanity.)

G37 Coupe has a ridiculously small trunk.
You will be lucky to fit two basketballs in there.

If i was done with the 3 series I'd go Audi S4 way before I'd get a g37.
