pagid brake discs
I bought some Pagid discs from EuroCarParts a few weeks ago and my mechanic tells me that they are not the correct part for my car. Too thin apparently!?
The part numbers I ordered were: 2 x 104111098 @ 56.34 GBP Pagid Brake Disc (Front) ---- 2 x 104111128 @ 59.40 GBP Pagid Brake Disc (Rear) Anyone know what the correct part numbers should be? Pagid's catalogue doesnt appear to list the part numbers for the 335i front discs. It lists the same part for 330i as for the 335i which is not correct... Fucking hassle..

Yep used my number plate.
There is an option of a few brands of discs. I wanted Pagid due to good reviews... Looking now, there is also a more expensive set of front pagid discs. These also appear thicker. Part No.: 104111138

Yep, that looks right. Their website isn't that good although the shops are brilliant.
I'd definitely give your nearest one a call and speak to someone over the phone - their instore system has never given me a wrong part yet.

Phil, the new (LCI 330i/d) does now have the same brakes as the 335i/d and this has caused confusion with a lot of sellers as they now group 335i/d and 330i/d together, forgetting that they used to be different (i.e. smaller on the 330i).
I had the same issue being sold brake pads for the 335i which tuned out to be for the pre-LCI 330i. Never trust the plate selection, just select your own model from the drop downs, unless you don't know what car you're driving that is. When I put my plate in it just comes up with 'BMW 3 series 3.0' and you have to then make sure you select your body shape, gearbox, 335 M sport, and even petrol turbo, further on in the system. But even then it still mixes 330mm discs (330i/d) with 348mm discs (335i/d) even when you have selected 335i in the drop downs. This seems to be because they are all labelled as 'BMW 3 series 3.0' so the ECP system can't differentiate. Last edited by doughboy; 07-18-2012 at 03:41 AM.. |
