Yes, the PSS is the best around for street purpose. No discussion.
They have trade offs: softer compount so a tid more wear... but:

- The have great grip also with wet roads
- Minimum of noise
- Great breaking capabilitities
- comfortable

Compared with for example eagles:

- Less noise
- Better wet capabilities
- Wear faster then the "harder' eagles

anyway, nothing else for me then the PSS. 235 in front, 265 in the back... perfect for the road. For racetracking you can use them, I would opt for 17 or 18'" ... and when possible the michelin Cups....

I just replaced the stock runflats on the 2011 335i e92. What a huge change.
The Michelin PSS feel sharper, yet with a softer ride. They are way more comfortable and quieter too. Go for the PSS, one of the best tires I had.

Pilot super sport = best bang for the buck/easiest/highest value upgrade I've done.

Traction: Superior

PSS > RFTs . . . HOWEVER, you will lose significant road feel and the car will not handle as well. The factory suspension is designed for the weight of the RFTs so you will notice that the ride is much softer than before. This shouldn't make a difference if all you are concerned about is driving around town and straight-line acceleration. Otherwise, you will need some coilovers that match the new tires.

SAVE the RFTs for when you want to trade in. Dealer will deduct 1k or more if trading with ANY non-RFTs. Can easily sell the PSSs used down the road...try finding someone to buy used RFTs

This is why I run 39/41 psi F/R. Its the soft sidewall, not the weight of the tire that makes you lose the handling feel.

I agree, with my 19" set up had ZPSS but went to 20" rims and got nitto invo's (245/30 & 285/25) and are not bad, but not as good as PSS....I m getting 245/30 & 295/25 PSS here soon.

Figure807 comment above is wrong. Pilot super sports will give INCREASED handling and BETTER road feel over RFT.

Worse feel, better handling. The sidewalls are very soft on the pss which reduces feel. They handle better though since much more stick and predictability.

Have to agree....a "all season" tire is not going o be as a good as a summer tire, my buddy had them and did not care for them.

Stock rtfs are crap. Upgraded to the Continental extreme contact dw, and it was much better. But as they aged, they seemed to get a lot more noisy and harsh, and weren't hooking as well.

Then I splurged and got the pss, and no contest. The PSS's are by far the best of the 3 I've tried. I rarely lose traction in my daily driving now.

Not true. PSS have a relatively stiff sidewall compared to many other non-RF tires.

Maybe to most non rfts but compared to rfts they are very soft. I also don't think they are as stiff as some of the other high performance non rtfs, but I haven't tried another non rtf on this car so I am speculating there.

I'm not saying that the RFTs handle better than PSS; I'm saying that RFT+stock suspension handle better than PSS+stock suspension. The PSS definitely grip better. At least that is what I experienced on the Ring. Road feel is mushier to me, but I'm running 32/36 based on tire wear pattern.

Switch to around 38+ F and 42psi rear. I had perfect wear with those settings. It has less feel with PSS and better grip. PSS is mushier, but should be a better lap time.
