At least it's no charge, my dealer told me I had to register the clock so it was $385 and CPO didn't cover it. They said I have to do it again in Nov.

They're probably figuring a lot of people treat their car clock like their VCR clock and never touch it. Some marketing bright light then thought, "I know, we'll tell them we'll fix it for FREE! It will bring them in and we can sell them other stuff." Still, it is pretty high on the ridiculous list.

LOL, thats funny.

But now that I think about it, to us this is hilarious since its such a simple task and we are on an enthusiast board. But then I think about how my mother would react to the email, she would be "Oh, thats very nice of them. I will stop by on my way home from work and don't have to bug my son about this." Which would result in the dealer getting +1 brownie points for the effort. So people who don't know shit about fuck about cars, would def go to the dealer for something this simple if it's free lol.

I can't believe the car is not smart enough to change the time itself in this day and age.

Exactly. My 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid did it. My friend's 2011 Civic handled it on its own. I was annoyed that I had to do this myself in a car that cost almost twice as much as my Fusion and over three times what the Civic costs. They have two time sources: GPS and Sirius. Use one of them.

Does the time not change automatically if I drive in to a new time zone?

Sure they'll rest the clock for free, but then hand over a sheet of other recommended service items at the same time. Free is just to suck you in.
