If buying upgraded led lamps for halo's etc

Do not use Ultra hids

I bought a pair and received them pretty quick - unfortunately one lasted 60 miles only. Needless to say I contacted him and explained the situation and asked for a refund. I wouldn't have normally gone straight for the refund but another member of another bmw forum that I use for 6 info was also having bother with him.

He was trying to get me to post them back at my expense which is against the sale of goods act anyway, then he wanted to send me some "upgraded" lights.

He emailed to say he would pay for return postage then said he wouldn't.

I declined again , then again and opened an ebay case. Ebay refunded me.

Why do sellers behave like that? I wouldn't do it and I don't know if he just expected me to give up or what.

What amazes me is the amount of positive feedback they have. That said, the other chap who was having bother said he gave them positive feedback so that they would send him some upgraded lamps.

Interestingly, eBay do not support the cost of returing goods being borne by the seller. Paypal, as part of eBay, will never make a refund to cover the cost of the return of [faulty] goods to the seller; it has always been the buyer's responsibility. They normally also only refund when the seller has confirmed the return (or you can prove return) of the goods - so well done you!

As you correctly point out, it is not a requirement to return faulty goods under the Sale of Goods Act, "Unless otherwise agreed". They could argue their T&Cs (may) provide for this treatment and you agree to that when you make the purchase...

Not quite right that.

Here's the soga - Sale of Goods Act Explained

In the case of faulty goods being returned because they are not fit for purpose do not match their description or are not of a satisfactory quality , the customer is entitled to claim the cost of postage from you or to request that you arrange collection of the item.

Paul, on a side note, have you sorted a set out ?

If not I can recommend a seller, and product that's gone the extra mile for me.
They're H8 LED split bulbs, Cree LED and have a slight purple ( LCI style colour but not a intense) that illuminate the outer ring better than any of the other 4 sends of LED H8 bulbs and don't have as much of a lamp effect for the inner unit.

i agree trying to capture the colour would be difficult with a camera.. a good description is probably of more use! you said the colour is slightly purple rather than white? So does the colour blend well with the white light from the xenon bulb?

and how bright are they? are they similar in brightness to others that have been mentioned across this forum?

any pictures would be great

As promised, here's a picture of the bulbs, it's very hard to capture the true colour of the bulbs.

Here are the bulb units :

Here are the results :

Thanks mate

So these don't throw any errors? Do they fade in and out when unlocking/locking? And do they dim slightly when switching from DRL mode to sidelights/ full headlights being switch on if you know what I mean ?

They do have alittle amount of dimming when locking/unlocking yes.
They do NOT have any dimming between the Auto/OFF/side light selection

But in all honesty, why do you need that, for myself, its not an issue

Hope this has been of use to everyone
