i like it and i want it, but over $300 seems a bit much. i guess there's not really any competition in this market

There are eBay cameras for about $40 and they seem to work fine based on YouTube videos. The quality is about as good as those realTV shows where they show worlds wildest car crashes etc. they are like VGA resolution which is like 320x240.

Quality is night and day. My friends have Ebay ones made in china, they are bulky and take up a lot of room on the dash.

The camera lenses that they use are cheap, even though they claim they are VGA, it is really comes down to the lenses that is most important. It works fine, but no guarantees on quality or anything. You get what you pay for right?
