Damn, that's a nice collection! Do you wear the wet suit when you detail? Just kidding bro. Hey, how do you like that spotless system? New to the whole detailing idea and can't wait to have a garage half that size someday! It makes me jealous.

I just spent close to 500 on more new stuff! Feel bad about it, but I am going to start charging family and friends for my work! haha!
Chemical guys, poorboys, and autogeek got a good amount of money from me tonight!! Post Pics when it all shows up! P.S. The coupon code "gold" is good for like 5% off with chemical guys! Shipping is crazy expensive though! |

Ya I just bought $620 from chemical guys. Also bout some PS2wheel gel from another place. In the last 3weeks I have spent over $1,000 on top of new wheels and tires. I just quit my job at the YMCA becuase I am taking too many units. I have around 8 cars lined up to get detailed therefore I will make more money then working at the Y in 1/4 of the time. Plus I will be doing something I like. But I will miss the kids! I cant wait!

No offense guys, please do NOT take this the wrong way (although some of you will), but will buying a P-car, Ferrari or F1 car make you a better driver?
I think some of you over indulge a bit, and I know, its all in good fun, but i've been detailing a while, and I went through this same thing of having to buy everything. In the end, i used like 3 ounces per bottle of product and either gave it away or tossed it. I can get spectacular results with a few basic OTC stuff and the rest is bought online, but only ebcause I've tried it and it works. I know, you gotta try it to know if it works, but a $1000 dollars in products is not gonna give you the same results as the "top" detailer. |

^^a very strong statement, its very true though, a detailer doesnt have to be good at what he does because of the kind of products he is using, hell, ive seen work with stuff from auto zone better than some pricey stuff from top sites. its really a matter of technique, precision, patience and dedication which makes detailing what it is to me. All of the "high end" products simply make life easier for detailers alike. im no professional and i have been going at this for only a few years so im still a rookie in the game but i know quality detailing when i see it.

As a semi professional athlete (golf), I above most people know that it’s not the product but more importantly how you use it. I personally don’t understand when I see 6+ handicap golfers spending thousands on equipment, but who am I to judge them? Will it help them drop scores? Most likely not, but it can. I don’t tell people how to spend their money. If they think that it will help them score lower, then more power to them because all it can do is escalate their confidence. I personally use the same set of irons that I bought 5 years ago and my score keeps dropping and I keep winning money not due to the products but because of my skills. But when I see something new, try it out, and like it, I BUY IT! Same goes with detailing products. The only difference is I buy it in bulk due to it’s a product that when used, depletes hence the amount of the bill. Also 90% of the stuff I bought I have used before.

I'm still trying to figure out how you just spent that much at CG. All the things on my wish list in my cart don't even add up to 2 bills worth.

Everything I purchased, I bought in gallons. Also due to the huge difference in the types of cars I detail, I had to buy a lot of different products to ensure quality. A gallon of the convertable top spray is not cheap and the jetseal is not cheap ither.

Yea...I really didn't buy anything I didn't need..I am going to start charging friends and family to do their cars for them, and see where it goes from there..
I bought the basic stuff I would need, because I didn't have it!! CG Citrus Wash, CG Maxi Suds, Jetseal, Menzerna SIP, 106FF, and PO87, a foamaster 2, some odds and ends (invisible glass, carpet cleaner..ect..) and Couple poorboys things. But just the stuff I would need to use on cars that have not been as well maintained as mine. I couldn't polish out scratches with ZPC or Klasse AIO on my friends and families cars, (just wouldn't cut it). But yeah, I don't think I am buying this stuff to be as good and as ScheerSpeed, or FMINUS, or picus, I just bought it because I didn't have it, and knew I would need it! |
