E90 LCI to Mtech rear bumper- do I need new guides?

Hi guys,
I am in the process of installing a Mtech rear bumper to my E90 LCI. I have searched high and low and was not able to find out if I do need new bumper guides or not. Some say no, but I was not able to see any DIY. So before I start any work, I'd like to know for sure. If you have info that is helpful on this matter, I would highly appreciate it.

Edit: I should also add that this is JGMods Mtech bumper.

A replica e90 mtech bumper will fit a pre-lci e90 with the original guides. But for a lci e90, you will need pre-lci e90 guides.

You do not NEED the guides.

I did the exact same thing about 2 months ago. On the inside of the bumper on each side is a tab that clips into the guide. You can just cut out the middle of it and it will slide around the guide just fine. It is normally used to hold the bumper on at that area but it really isn't needed as it is held on up top and on bottom. I cut mine and it makes no difference.
