Drove a GTR yesterday..

So a friend of mine just got a GTR, and let me drive it yesterday. I thought I would give a couple of observations:

It looks very impressive in person, much better than in photos

It is a big car, larger than I had thought it would be

I could easily use it as a daily driver

It is fast. The most impressive thing is how immediate and agressive the upshift is. Way stinger and faster than my Step.

The launch is insane

It g-teked 11.53 @121.5 with 0-60 @3.3 sec

I want one!

Video footage or it didn't happen.

That must have been fun to drive. I still haven't even seen one in person, let alone drive one, but it looks like an impressive car to take for a spin.

Wow; that sounds awesome!!!! I can imagine the launch (w/ launch control) with that BEAST! I would love to take a spin in a GT-R! It's nice to have goals.

btw -- did you get a chance to see how it handles? It's supposed to handle like a Porsche 997T.

I have gotten to ride in a GT-R as a passenger. Tranny is a little jerky from a stop during day to day driving conditions, and the car did seem to have a little bit of lag. Interior is not as refined as its performance rivals but is livable for sure. Paddle shifters are not mounted on the steering wheel which some may not like. Car is impressive in all things performance. Launch control is ridiculous; it's like being kicked in your back upon take off. You get a lot of car for the price. Congrats on the drive.

My god they're ugly though. Reminds me of a toyota celica from the side and other angles are all puffy like a lexus, and then throw in some of the jagged angles that make cadillacs so hideous. It's one fast turd.

I've read in more than a couple of places that if you use the launch control on the GTR it voids the warranty???

Hey if you like it then more power to you. Their design obviously appeals to certain people. Frankly I think all Japanese cars are ugly, except for maybe the old nsx.

it makes sense that it would void the warranty.
Just like what BMW did to e46 M3 SMG launch mode...

yeah everyone on here complains about bmws warranty killing tactics

id imagine everyone here would be selling their cars tomorrow if the DTC button turned out to be the "warranty killer code" lol

if you can afford a gtr warranty shouldnt be that much of a problem...

however the car is BEAUTIFUL and for 70k one of the fastest cars around

wait for the spec v at 125k, youll REALLY be impressed, itll be like 350z vs nismo 350z but better

you guys see that youtube video where the GTR lost to the z06 vette like 10 times in a row? that didnt look accurate to me lol i cant imagine this car losing to too many others
