ctuna If you don't mind me asking whats the pros and cons with the sis 8s? I have the bav sound ghost subwoofers under my seats with aftermarket amp that has plenty of power to run the sws 8s. Do the sis 8s have more potential?

I have wondered if the underseats have the same bass response as say a 10in sub in the trunk. I like having the space in the truck for storage rather than subwoofers.

A side mount or bottom mount looses little space if
any.
I like the Jehnerts I have heard the sws but not the bavsounds
so I can't compare those . I like Jehnerts better for accuracy
and total range.

I have a 10" housed in each corner of my trunk with my amps under the floor board. No loss of trunk space whatsoever. my only complaint is my car went from zero rattles to having a few gremlins i am chasing down now.

These ones?http://www.jehnert.de/en/shop/speake...rive-o200mm-8/
Now I'm assuming these don't require the mounting spacers?

I believe they come with them can't be sure as mine came
in a Musicar Kit. Unexpected Creations is the US distributor.
They make what is called the slimline kit that comes with door speakers and tweeters plus crossovers.
If you call Unexpected Creations be sure to talk ask how they will work with the stock amp or anything you plan to attach.

Hello
Little confused. So I have base system. Am changing to focal k2 componet speakers with earthquake sws. Poss fli 800 amp or pioneer 8604. Do i need 2ohm or 4ohm sws subs? Been told I need 2ohm as is easier to wire but I have found some 4ohm going cheap so ideally want to use them....

You can use the 4ohm's.
Benefit with 2ohm is that they pull more power from the amplifier = play louder.

but - if you got the base system and want to connect an amplifier it is highly recommended that you get your radio coded for 'Hi-Fi' since it will give you a 4volt Pre-out signal that is not equalized.

Regarding amplifiers - if you are going to buy something new, then I highly recommend to go straight for a new construction with build in DSP. This will allow you (or your installer) to tune the sound to your liking and get the most from the chosen components.
It is no secret here that I favour the German Match amplifiers, and for your system a PP62 DSP would be a good choice.

If you are doing a base system

Start your own thread or search for base system threads
there are more of those than anything else on here.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...highlight=base

What BMW3dk said if you want a quality result.
Also its a mistake to look at max power and not anything else.
100watts per factory speaker location is enough
too much for factory speakers.
and a 500 watt sub is plenty.
Unless you are total bass head and want your car to rattle to impress people or offend them.
