The reason why we aren't individually mapping cars at this point is simply an attempt to keep variables minimal. The car is still relatively new and we don't want to risk having different cars induce different diagnostic codes and lose track of what we did. So far, our method seems to be working and I'd be hesitant to deviate too far from it. Just make sure you are running on good gas (this is the biggest contributor to the power you put down that day). So that means no Costco, Safeway, Raceway, Rotten Robbie, etc,.

You guys are in for a real treat. I had a few skeptics among my coworkers, and they can't stop talking about what a beast my car is now with the extra set of gonads PROcede added. It shines in every driving scenario, but the most insane anecdote I can provide is the acceleration in 6th at 2.5K (say 60-80mph) uphill after the tunnel on 26 West.... wow.... and thats in 6th! In my previous S54 powered M, I would have been in 4th for that feeling. You really have to learn some throttle finesse in the 1st 2 gears unless you like to have the leash yanked by the DSC nanny. It's been 'restraint 101' for me in the last week, akin to getting a new, much faster car. THe installation is very easy.... just read the tips on the vishnu board (especially the CA tip), use both the written and video instructions, and it's the easiest performance gain ever. Look forward to seeing you guys on our PDX dyno day (if you arent buying new rear tires at the time).

I was wondering, since it looks like a good chunk of our group will be getting our Procede's prior to May 5, is anybody going to do the install themselves and just do the dyno? I personally am going to wait for shiv to do it.

Hmm

If we install it ourselves, do we get any custom tuning at the dyno? j/k :P

I would certainly think (hope) if a new version comes out between now and May 5 shiv would download it for us. Otherwise, I'm not sure about any custom tuning.

By the way, just now while I was typing, ups guy came. Got it!

lol... no custom tuning yet. Just installs And if you want, before and after dyno testing for verification. But, at this point, even that is optional. Just make sure you are running on a quality premium gas.

Cheers,
shiv

Arrow Th-th-that's all, folks!

Per Shiv, the most we can reasonably dyno in a day is 9. So we're full up for the actual dyno day. Shiv has offered to do installs the next say (Sunday, 6 May 07) at his hotel for those of you in "on the fence" that are interested (and haven't installed already ).

A question. The above means that the 9 folks in committed are splitting the dyno cost ($750), plus travel/hotel ($500). For the install only folks, if any, how would you feel about an equal share of the travel/hotel?

Thanks.

It looks like we have only 8 installs (edgarj already has TT installed I believe), so I would think the 8 of us would have to split shiv's travel expenses, and 9 would split the dyno costs. I suppose the thing we need to determine is if any of the 8 install people want to pass on the dyno. If not, then we would split it like I mentioned above. What do you guys think?

Guys, I have to apologize for keeping you waiting for my decision. Unfortunately, I cannot commit now as I have other priorities -- I'm in the middle of a huge house rebuilding project. So, I'll be buying PROcede probably closer to the end of the year.

I was pretty jacked up when I opened the box, and I really wanted to try the install (i'm more worried about pulling stuff out and putting it back properly then i am about the wiring), but I really want the before and after dyno like your do. Plus I'm sure shiv will download the latest map.

Guys, sorry to do this but I'm back on the fence. I'll be on a business trip the week prior and will be returning home on that very weekend (Sat)! At best I might be able to make the Sunday dyno-less group provided I'm not too jet lagged. . If that doesn't work out I suppose I'll just have to install it myself

Exclamation Coming soon to a dyno near you!

Per the above, SLU has had to drop his dyno day participation -- but that does mean we do have one more dyno slot open for 5/5. Chime in!

Dyno day

jonm
I ordered my Procede 1st of this month but have not heard from Vishnu if it will make it here in time. I have sent several e-mails inquiring but have not heard from anyone. Which bugs me. At this point I do not know if I will have my goods by then. FYI I'll let you know.
