Gaydon BMW Festival 2012 Aftermath/Pics

Hi.

Few pics from the Gaydon BMW festival which I attended with my little forum today...

First of all - the good news. My spoiler is still attached

Bought the ACS Type II Carbon fiber spoiler and subsequently fitted it with some tape at the show... also finally fitted my black boot badge.. I think it makes a biiiiig improvement to the back of the car.

Pics of the EvoTechnik cars are toward the end! Less pics than usual from me generally but hope you approve. As you can see from the pics in the middle it's a massive massive show and quite a great day out.. You missed out if you didn't attend!

Oh, couple of shots of the back of mine post spoiler. I do think it looks an awful lot better. These are repeated at the end as I'm too lazy to edit. Meh.

Well. Without any further delay...

Cheers
Dave

Some really good looking cars in there.

That X6 with the gold/orange flashes looks awful.

Love the E30 M3 but would like to see more dish on the rear wheels if possible.

The new M6 is tasty. BMW still have not improved the paint quality though!

As usual, some beautiful cars and a huge amount of chavved-up horror shows. Good pics though.

I feel that the quality of cars was significantly higher than this time last year. What do you consider chavved up though? There's some obvious "crashed through halfords backwards" contenders but a hell of alot of just "That's different" style cars. IE I got nothing against them but wouldn't do it to mine. Don't think they can all just be tarred chav mind you.

If you've got the spare time then humour me Give me a couple of examples from teshi/ my pics of the "horror shows"

I'm actually seeing a new topic coming on "Mad fool" versus "Chav tool". With a vote on each picture.

Hehe.

Fair comment it's each to their own, however:

Horrid:

And this one just for the washer bottle. Why would you do that?

The last one, why not? Otherwise there's a big lump of opaque plastic in an otherwise pristine engine bay! I actually really like what George has done here.

I'm with you in thinking the burgundy E36 is a bit much. But feel it's an each to his own thing. Not awful. I respect it. But definitely wouldn't do it myself.

Completely agree that pic1 is horrendous. The alloys topping the package off masterfully!

Don't see what's wrong with the 7 you posted though? Just because it has deep dish wheels?

On the 7 it's just the dramatically lowered look which is too much, especially on a 7, it just looks wrong.

On the engine bay it's let me take off everything removable (washer bottle, expansion cap, oil filler, power-steering cap etc) and spray it bright blue. It looks ridiculous. As has been said, though, each to their own.

engine bays...just another thing that draws in the crowd!

before not many people did it...now more and more idea's/effects are coming out and really makes a difference...that's what these shows are about! mod the whole car...why not the most important part of it!

each to their own though i guess..,

the E92 is mine...custom painted engine bay using Sparkling Graphite and Velvet blue BMW colours...

Great pics, looked like a really good day out.
Shame I didn't have the time to come down this weekend. Will definately be attending in the future.

Where did you get your all black BMW badges from by the way?

For rolling it was the 1D and 17-40L which I don't really use. Just my just in case lens especially for out of the window photos and then the rest were with the Sigma 85 1m4 which I picked up the day before. Very very lush bit of glass
