Hey everyone, Im still new to this forum and was just wondering if there was a sticky or thread anywhere for e90 maintenance schedule?
I just got my e90 less than a month ago. It's a 2009 and I was wondering what to replace? change? etc. Thanks everyone! |

Your car will tell you what needs to be done and when.

Definitely get in touch with Mike Miller for the latest copy of his maintenance strategy. Excellent document. My e90 just left factory warranty at the end of June and I plan to be following his schedule quite closely.

Does it worry you that you are out of warrenty? I have been worried about that and I still have 1 year left lol. I'm just trying to do everything possible to keep this car healthy so I dont get nailed with repairs and everything down the road. Thanks for the advice, I need to download this doc asap! |

How many miles on the car? What Model e90 328i/xi 335?
With the exception of power steering fluid, I've changed all my fluids since I got my 08 a year and a half ago. It's a good place to start and most of them are fairly easy DIY. Plugs are also a good and fun DIY depending on how many miles you have. I did mine at 44K even though they're "rated" to 100K. Engine definitely felt smoother after. But Mike Miller Guide is def a good one.

For a few reasons, no, not really. First, it's a 2011 328xi with iDrive, so it's well into the e90 model and pretty basic (for a BMW, I mean). Second, I've only got 32,000 miles on it. Third, I've access to a pretty good independent whom I trust, although that said my local dealership is absolutely fantastic so my current thinking is that they will always get first crack at any problem, even oil changes. Fourth, financially I'm fortunate enough to be able to accommodate a, say, $2K repair without too much trouble.
I spent months trying to decide on an extended warranty. Read every post here, I'm sure. I was this close to buying it, but in the end I decided to risk it and not bother. I don't regret the decision, but I might if I have to shell out for, say, a new tranny or something! |

Good points! So based on this, I shouldn't have too much to worry about? mine is a 2009 with 80,000km and still have 1 year of warrenty left. Hopfully I'm still good for many years to come! |

Hehe - except the oil life monitor stops working! Your car is legendary on this forum, mate. I reckon the mothership should reward you with a new 4 series M. Very least.

Kind of. Sorry - rude of me to derail the thread. Have a look at this thread for Efthreeoh's experience with the oil monitor: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=926864
Back to your issue. How much you spend on post warranty work is of course your call. Much of it will be how risky you want to be. Do you want, for instance, to believe that so,e fluids are lifetime, as BMW claims? Some do. That's fine. Mike Miller's thoughts give another perspective. Arm yourself with as much info as possible and then decide. These forums are excellent repositories of info and experiences, as well. Good luck with whatever you decide. It won't be the wrong the decision. That is reserved for indecision. |

Ahaha I dont believe anything to be "lifetime" but by the gist of it from Mike Millers doc, It seems like just replace everything once or twice a year and your good to go lol. |
