M3 Console on 335i

I feel like the console, 6at shift plate and 6at shifter are really starting to date our car. I know a lot of guys have upgraded to m3/m5 shift knobs. However, has anyone tried to fit the whole console?

Others have used the 335i 6mt boot and removed the 6at shift plate but that doesn't look good to me either.

I see few possible issues if we try doing this. 1) There will be several unused buttons on the console itself, which I never like seeing. 2) The m3/m5 shifter is not completely secure and moves around slightly because the groove at the top of the shifter rod goes in the opposite direction as the 335i rod. (One could dremel a groove to fix this issue) 3) Is the m3 boot loose enough to allow the 335i gear selector to move through all of the gears?

Anyway, what are thoughts?

I just did an auto base plate delete and installed the performance manual boot with the auto performance shifter. Looks really good. Doing a whole console change might be tough. Wonder if the dimensions are the same.

Get the performance shift knob/ boot had it for 2 months and I love it. Looks great, feels great and it seemed to make the action of changing gears more smooth.
