Windshield Wipers noisy
I just noticed when I turn my windshield wiper on, it makes a really loud thumping noise and it jerks when the wiper reaches the bottom of the window. When I put it to full speed, it goes up and down smoothly. Is this only with my car or does anyone else have this problem? Its really annoying when your driving.

Yes, the first time my wipers swipe across the windshield, it was extremely noisy. But it went away after that. Upon stopping, I can also feel the windshield wipers through my brake pedal, lol.

Are you referring to the rubber blades being noisy or the actual wiper motor/assembly? If it's the just the rubber, I would suggest trying some Rain-X or like product on the windshield. That should cut the friction between the blade and the glass. If it's the assembly, then taking to the dealer may not be a bad idea. If the Rain-X doesn't help, and it's not the assembly, then you can always bring it into the dealer and have them replace the insert. Wiper blades are covered under the maintenance program.

My wife's E46 330 did this, as do both of our E9x's. But, they are the best wipers I have ever used...

Try cleaning your windshield really well and wiping down your wiperblades. Mine are smooth and quiet but I wipe them everytime I wash my car.

Yeah, when that thumping starts, I can feel it in the pedal too. I thought I was the only one and thought something was wrong. But now I noticed that it only thumps when its going at slower speed. At fast speed, it doesn't do this. Weird.....

I have washed my car/blades and rain-x'ed and the car has only 500 miles on it so, I don't think it has to do with dirty blades.
