thought I would get dinan today
So I woke up early.. Called dinan about the ecu and the rep said it came out today, but u either need a dinan oil cooler or a stock oil cooler to have the ecu be installed with warranty. Since I bought my car in 06 I wasn't sure if I had the stock oil cooler. So I called my dealer in weatherford bmw and they said I had to bring the car in for them to see. No biggie because my one year free oil change was today so I brought it in. As they were servicing my car they told me I didnt have an oil cooler and I was piss. The rep said u were planning to get the dinan ecu huh? I said year but I don't want to fork over $2800 for the dinan oil cooler +the cost of the ecu . I then asked how much does the stock oil cooler cost , hoping it would be cheaper then dinan oil cooler. So I left discourage and decided to grab a bite to eat. Next thing I know I got hit in the back bumper and this got me even more piss. I took it to the bmw body shop in at and to fix my car from the hit and run was 1650!!!!! But then, something amazing happen... The rep at weatherford called me and told me they would retrofit my oil cooler for me next Monday!!!!... Since they had to wait for the part. Now I can get my dinan ecu right after I get my car back with its free oil cooler!!! So even though I had to pay 1650 to fix my car from the accident I had today , at least its not 1650 for repair+ $2800 for dinan oil cooler + 2000 for ecu =\
P.S. This was done with an iPhone haha |

Not sure about California, but in my state a hit and run is covered on car insurance under the uninsured motorist part of the policy, not even a deductible. The only catch was that you had to report it to the police within 24 hours of the accident. The claim had no impact on my rates and was not considered a negative mark on my claim history.

Someone actually willing to pay 2k for Dinan and all BMW has to do to make the sale is the same shit they're doing for tons of owners...retrofit the oil cooler.
Not really shocked over here....I'd be more shocked if they DIDN'T retrofit the cooler

OP, there is something where most of your insurance money goes, is called "Collision", IF another car HIT you, you are covered. Same shit happened to me while my car was parked. TAKE PICTURESt, and call your insurance company ASAP before they fix it , and they'll send somebody over to estimate the damage cost.
By the end of the day, i guess you will only pay $500.00, depending of your insurance premium.
