White smoke

Im getting a big puff of white smoke when i drive from warm and sometimes cold startups.. It smokes for about 20 seconds and goes away.. There is no excessive oil usage.. Its embarrassing and no one can seem too find whats wrong.. Some say engine seals and some say turbo seals ... And again it only smokes right when i drive from startups.. Help plz

Garage List
I'm smoken' too

I get white smoke from the right pipe after a cold start-up. It happens about 5 seconds after the start, blows white for 5 seconds and then disappears. I am going to the dealer tomorrow. I'll update you on what I hear. From what I've read, it seems white smoke is a valve seal, turbo seal or PCV issue. As I understand it, when the car is cold and/or the weather is colder, bad seals can be brittle and leak before the car warms up. I am a newbie to car repair but I will let you know what learn.

Thanks

I need some advice as well!!!!
My wife and I own a 2011 X-5 35d. the other night on my way home from work , I stopped at a stop sign and as I had proceeded down the street, I at first thought it was dust as I was driving though a construction zone, I got to the next stop sign and as I moved through the intersection a HUGE CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE followed the car. I pulled over and shut the car off for a while. Started her up no smoke at first or while at idle. I pushed on the throttle pedal and not too much smoke while not moving. started moving again plenty of smoke. and drove home at about 10 to 20 miles per hour with not too much smoke. what could it be??? any ideas?????

Just buy another set of OEM or start looking at upgrades. The one good thing is folks will always encourage you and make you think its 100 other things than the turbo. Ill be realistic. It can be something else ill just let you know its most likely the turbos. Vtt has replacements thats fairly cheap

I am on board with this... Mine were injectors. No more white smoke after they were replaced.
