Help: E-brake handle (sleeve) keeps slipping off!

I recently started having an issue with my e-brake handle (the sleeve part) where it keeps slipping off when I pull it up or release it down. I'm not putting a lot of pressure on it when doing so, and even light pulls or pressure from pushing the e-brake button will release the e-brake handle from the grip of my hand.

Does anyone know if there's a fix to this? Could something inside the e-brake handle (clip or something) have broken or worn out? Should I just look into buying a replacement?

It's a zip tie that holds it in place. It might be worn or have slipped off. Put a new one on and you should be good to go.

OK, I may have confused everyone (including myself) with the description. There's the e-brake handle and the e-brake boot. The handle is what keeps slipping off. Will the zip-tie solution still work?

Make sure you have the handle pushed far enough down onto the lever. Give it a good shove. It can appear to be on but actually not be far enough to take hold. If that doesn't work, disassemble and look at it.

I believe the zip tie just holds the boot flush with the handle.
