Problem with Alpine

Hi guys,

I have a problem with my Alpine Hifi Upgrade kit..

We have connected all the cables like it was instructed through the manual.

Now when I step in the car & start the engine, the rear speakers work.. For about 10 seconds and then go off.

No sound in the front speakers or whatsoever.

My friend told me that the AMP gave an red flashing LED light at the startup.

I just don't know what to do now..

I have checked the fuses and all were okay.
BTW: I have conncted the earth to another spot (right from the AMP) not where BMW suggested it. But could this have an influence?

Any suggestions?

Put the earth where its recommended.
Check all your wirings and make sure everything is connected.
If rear speakers are shutting off, then that means something is really SINISTER.

Your front channel of HU / Radio is sending signals to the amp, and if amp is not on (due to no earth or faulty amp), the signals meet in the amp circuit. Being differential balanced input, the signals get short and that put the IC of your HU / radio to protection mode ---> no sound from the rear as well.

Do not keep the HU on as soon as the rear speakers turn off.

Yes. But disconnect it where you joined the connections (next to door panels).

Okay will do. Do I really need to take the battery out of order to test this?

Small update; I have checked the wiring, unplugged and replugged.

Now my lamp is giving a green light but no sounds in the fronts..

Could there be a fuse that has blown in the car?
