Help with Angel Eyes
So, I have been researching to upgrade my yellowish standard angel eyes with some bright led ones...
I have some questions: 1 - Which bulb format do I really need ? I have a E90 pre-lci with xenon, "auto levelling-yada-yada" lights, are the angel eyes bulbs universal for all E90s ? 2 - Is there any specification I should be aware of ? like voltage, should it come with some special adapter or screws ? 3 - Does the computer check for errors on those bulbs as well ? 4 - I have seem many sites and sellers with prices ranging from 40 bucks to 200 bucks... is there a brand or site you guys recommend to buy it ? 5 - And yes, I'm looking for a bright white one (I think is the 5000K colour), if you have a pair for sale that fits, please PM-me ! Thanks !

If you want plug n play (direct swap, no errors) then most guys generally go with either the Lux 5.1 (you need 5.1 for pre-lci) or MTec V3 (I'm getting these through DimSum). I agree with 1lyfe in that it's going to be a PITA to install on an e90 due to the fact we have to access the bulb assembly through the front wheel well. Or if you really want the brightest out there and are a baller, you could look into OSS or LS3 AEs. Also, you'll probably want to do a bit of research in the Cosmetic and Lighting Modifications section: http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=57

Hey Guys, thanks a lot for the help =) I think I'll end up with the mtecs...
And yes, I saw the DYIs for installing them, seems to be annoying the least... probably I'll install it on the summer or pay someone to do it

ive done this once and i swore i will never do it again haha
good luck though. word of advice: after you install it, turn it on and drive around with it (try with headlights off and headlights on) before you screw everything back in. i installed mine onto me pre lci and just flicked the switch and looked good till i drove it at night and turned on the headlights and a light bulb warning came up. surely enough one side of the angel eyes stopped working and i had to redo the entire thing again to remove and replace the bulb. |
