Shame though mate, it would be a lovely weekend away if you can bring the missus or something? There is a good chance if you wanted to stay Firday/Saturday that there would be others, or alternatively, you could take the missus to a seperate B&B on Thursday, book Friday off and do your own thing, make a weekend of it?

We have several attractions on offer which are largely unavailable or extremely costly in the South East:

Air
Sky
Greenery
Trees
Animals roaming free
etc

It may be worth plotting speed cameras on the route to the meet I know Durham deploy a mobile on the A66 near the end of a dual carriageway stretch to single carriageway near Barney. It would be a shame for an enjoyable weekend to have additional costs.
Not sure but I think Catterick Garrison roads have one but I could be wrong.
Which ever enjoy and be safe I may get across for the Saturday drive but I am waiting for a disc replacement which may crop up around that date.

Nice list guys, good to see some of the regulars as well as Ed and Mandy considering a trip up North!!

Just a quick reminder to keep the momentum going; we need to start confirming this list as decent hotels etc are limited in the area the meet is taking place. With that in mind, I'm going to start making arrangements in the near future to ensure that those who confirm their attendance can get booked in.

Note that if you later decide you want to attend and have not confirmed, you might end up with a different hotel or none at all!!!!

I'll also be booking some food venues soon as well, so anyone wanting lunch/saturday night meal will need to let me know (obviously no need if you have already posted.) In the event that chosen venues insist upon booking in advance etc, I will PM or post again regarding the menu and any dietary requirements.

Really sorry guys, but I'm almost certainly not going to make it now. Gutted. My Daughter starts school in September and they've just announced loads of run-up-to-school events in June which means we've had to switch our planned holiday. The only week we can change to is, you guessed it, over the NM4 weekend

. I'm still pondering whether they is a way I can get there but struggling...
