Black run group at PCA is a badass crowd! I am usually in the yellow/green and find myself stuck behind many cars. Last time I was on Thunderbolt with PCA I got to the front of that run group my last two sessions and wasn't passed (OK ... well, a 997 GT3 RS did but that does NOT count ).
Yes, it was a great time. I was able to give point-byes VERY late since some of the cars has in excess of 500hp! It was a really good learning experience because my car was so "slow" compared to all the other cars. Not at all like when I'm running with CCA events.

I too got some nice rotation even with my r-comps in the octopus when my tires started to go off. Lots of fun!

Stay dry tomorrow and remember smooth!

Does anyone know what the schedule for NASA-NE @ NJMP August 4-5 is? I've never run with NASA NE, only NASA MA & NorCal. Also, I tend to run HPDE 3 in NorCal and HPDE 2 in MA (just don't know the tracks at all) - presumably I should go HPDE 2 in NE?

4 x HPDE groups, a separate TT group, 2 race groups. Is that what you're looking for? If you don't know the tracks, I'd start at HPDE2 and if you feel comfortable you can ask for a check ride to get bumped up.

Aside from a tiny windshield chip, it was a perfect weekend at the track. Weather was high 80's and not a single drop of rain. Got to meet my fellow enthusiasts Rob, PeterM1 and Wonho. Pics posted in another thread here.

Wonho waving to the photographer LOL!

I'm considering doing this event as well; how is the ride down there and where do you usually stay?

Considering I hit st00pid traffic from 55 to Turnpike whenever I come up from NJMP (and I live in NJ), the drive to WV isn't bad at all. Usually stay at Holiday Inn at Winchester, which is about 15-20 mins from track IIRC. That's one of the nicer hotels I've stayed at for track events.

Summit Main (despite the recent deer vid that went viral) is actually one of my favorite tracks.

Great thanks for the info.

One other thing - I haven't run with BMWCCA before so their rules about window tinting - you can see through my car all directions (especially when the windows are down on the track). Do you send someone pics of your car before/after you register?

195 -> GS and then 287 for further North if it works for you. Turnpike traffic going up north is horrible due to that construction around exits 7-8

I want to get back to Summit Main, but the weekends in the summer months conflict with other RSVPed engagements. So it's RTR or wait until October. Seems PCA events are less expensive as well.
