Passenger Seat Belt Warning Error

I've been dealing with this issue since on my '08 e90 335xi. Some times when someone sits in the passenger seat for a while, when they get out, the seat still thinks there is a passenger in there and the seat belt warning will go off OVER AND OVER again. it gets quite annoying. it seems the sensor for the weight on the seat may be off calibration as well. If i put even a spring jacket on the seat that weighs only a few pounds, it can cause the car to scream at me about the passenger seat belt. anyone else deal with this? my research shows that the MY2006 had a recall for an issue like this but nothing for '08. sorry if this has been discussed, i had a hard time finding a thread about it.

you can code out the seatbelt chime. Or you can disconnect the seat sensor and code out the mat sensor fault error and seatbelt chime. This would mean your airbag will always deploy regardless of what is in the seat. Other options are new MAT sensor (expensive and impossible in install), new seat, or MAT sensor bypass which is the same solution as coding.
