New key fob

Anyone bought one recently? Is it possible to buy from the US with proof of ownership?

Why do you need the proof of ownership?

If you're buying a new fob, it will need to be coded locally anyway.

How do you change a battery in the key?

I just ordered a key from the dealer last month. Came in from Malaysia. Costed $650.

Took two weeks, comes pre-coded. You just need a rego slip to show proof of ownership.

Then i found my spare key -_-

BMW keys are all shipped coded normally. I don't know where you get this info from.

You can only change battery on keys with Comfort Access equipped cars.
Others come with rechargable battery sealed insdie the key.

What he said ^

I believe the only coding I will need to do at a dealer is for the comfort access, but I can get away with using it normally just as a spare.

I think I was assuming if you didn't buy from a BMW dealer, that it wouldn't come coded.

I was looking into this a while ago, and saw them on eBay.
