How much IAT reduction does a good FMIC have?

Let's say for example ambient temps are 90-95F and you are doing some quick WOT pulls, how much of a reduction in IAT versus stock would be considered a good intercooler and how much great?

Looking at just cooling, not other aspects.

I noticed most intercoolers are giving between 15-25 depending on the size, is that what should be targeted?

it is more of consistency rather than absolute reduction. In other words, you'll see less increase in IAT throughout a pull, and faster recovery after a pull.

with my ETS 7", I barely see an increase in IATs throughout a 3rd gear pull while with the stock intercooler I use to see more than 30F increase sometimes...

+1, one of the best mods you can do starting out.

Hitting 140-145 on stock IC vs. barely hitting 100 on aftermarket sounds good.

I think this is definitely gonna be my next mod. I don't track my car just basically a weekend warrior but avg temps here are 33 Celsius during the day here. Would this allow me to run stage 1 map Vishnu maps. I currently run stage 0.

The idea of an aftermarket FMIC isn't geared towards a few quick pulls, but rather keeping the IAT's down during sustained driving. For example, if you're ever out on a road course, initially all is fine. After pushing the car hard for even a couple of laps you'll start to feel the "bog". With an aftermarket FMIC you'll get better airflow to the turbos, cooler temps, and MUCH faster recovery post shift. You could gain cooler IAT's with meth than you'll ever get with an FMIC, but even then the less restrictive airflow from the upgraded FMIC with meth would still be worth it IMO.

Frankly on my last 335, I noticed a much bigger difference adding the FMIC than I did the 3" catless downpipes. The FMIC needs to be the first mod after a tune, IMO. 150 deg intake temps are absurd. The car smoothed out and made a lot more power, 27 whp over the stock unit on the same dyno in nearly identical conditions.
