Yes it is funny that you intentionally stick your neck out to show your apparent dissatisfaction over something you aren't buying. As if you're upset you haven't gotten news your deserve.

Josh and I crunched some numbers and we are looking to release the base HPF Stage 1 N54 turbo kit for $5950. This will include the turbo manifold, journal bearing Precision turbo, wastegate, oil scavenge pump and hardware, downpipe, intake charge pipe, motor mount, motor mount relocation kit, VBrace, fittings, couplers, etc. Those that want our intercooler, BOV kit or tuning packages can purchase those separately. Our kit can also be ordered with the ball-bearing option or turbos all the way up to a Precision 76. The stage 2 kit will include an intake manifold, fuel rail, injectors, etc. Pricing on that will be announced at a later date.
We hope to have Eric's 335i up and running later today with this setup. I'll keep everyone posted. Chris. |

Thank you, Chris.
This pricing is in the ballpark for a lot of people. However, I would advocate for NOT having a journal bearing turbo as an option, due to their many problems. It would be better to bump up your price by $500 and have the 'base' package something you can be proud of and stand behind. Also, will the Stage 1 kit need an intake manifold, injectors, etc. or will it be complete ? Quote:

Is it fair to assume stage 1 power out put will be comparable to the currently available upgraded twins option? If so i dont see a whole lot of point to it, now stage 2 is where things look to get exciting.

This is definitely an affordable option. Lets see what kind of power it produces and the powerband etc.
Lets see this car running...And I don't just mean starting the car

Which the $5950 doesn't include. So plan on adding another $800 if you don't already own the tune which will be used. Still more affordable than I imagined, now calculate in 10-20 hours of labor which will still place you under $10K, not bad.

Considering the HPF stage 1 for the e46 made 600 rwhp.... I don't think it's fair to assume anything... I think I could live with 600 rwhp for awhile. Don't forget the $$$ for an LSD upgrade. I'm putting down 430rwhp now and have so much torque steer... I'm sure 600 rwhp with an open dif would be out of control.

Interesting. Looking forward to the stage 2 updates/pricing. What do you think the install hours will be for stage 1 at a reputable indy shop?
