Keep in mind the 2011+ 335's use the N55 motor.

The 2009 will have the N54 motor which is the "better" motor.

No No No No. Not better. This is a false statement.

The 2011 will come with the N55, yes. It will not yield as much more with the current state of mods. But, I will not say it's better in any way.

My fellow N55 fiends don't hassle with as much of HPFP issues, sounds more aggressive, and have come to love the torque beast.

I'm not boasting about the N55 and saying it is "better" in any way. It's personal preference and I recommend driving both.

The e92 LCI is a great car and is also available in the N54 if you get the 335is. I love my e92 LCI with the N55, and it's because it treats me so well.

I don't know why it is engraved in some people's brain that the N55 is the "no no, bad" motor.

it def does not have the power potential the n54 has, but it does have all the power and torque one would need ever in a daily driver.

I have a pre lci e90 and the only thing I really wish my car had that the lci has is the ability to work on the headlights without taking the front bumper off.

Besides that, the pre-lci idrive system is perfectly fine for me, I actually prefer the pre lci e90 tail lights to the lci tail lights (I am probably the only person who feels this way), the front bumper differences between the 2 don't really matter to me. I was happy to save the extra money and put it towards mods.

What are the main exterior differences on the LCI E92's other than the front bumper looks worse? I can easily tell the difference on the E90's, but I don't know that I have noticed much difference on the coupes.

I get bugged by the reflectors in my PreLci headlights. also the lack of those awesome led turn signals in the headlights. but the worst thing... The mustache... it makes me hate my car.

For the angel eyes, $450 will not make the pre-lci look nearly as good as the LCI.

Make that ~$900 for custom headlights. I did the same calculation mistake as you when I got my pre-LCI.

However, the taillights are $525 shipped and FRM is not needed. A simple coding to remove bulb checks will make it perform identical to the LCI. So take off $400 from the taillights price. (After adding a $75 coding cable, got mine for $25 off ebay and it works perfect.)

Total price is almost the same after increasing headlight costs and decreasing taillight costs.

LCI m-sport front bumper looks more aggressive than the pre-LCI m-sport bumper. Another thing I made a mistake on. I could not tell the difference until I actually owned the car. CPS lip on the LCI looks amazing, CPS lip on the pre-lci looks good. This is the only reason that slightly makes me wish I got the LCI instead.

Something else you should factor in is the price of used parts for the pre-LCI and for the n54 engine. I got a jb4 for $60, I doubt you would find a jb4 for the n55 for less than $300. There are also a ton of people selling aftermarket downpipes for the n54 and a lot less for the n55. And as proven, n54 does make more power after mods. Reliability, I believe they both have hpfp problems.

I guess I need to start paying more attention, as I don't think I have ever seen an e92 with LED front signals and tail lights (other than a rare 335is).

I prefer the pre LCI. I do not like the side mirrors on the LCI models.

If it was me I would always buy the newest 1 I could afford, re-sale value will normally be higher, plus you can then mod as and when funds are available

I prefer everything about the pre-lci, but I want a longer warranty and getting a 2010 only gives me less than 2 years.
