KW Noise issue?
We have received several emails from customers having a noise in the front of there suspension after the installation of the KW coilovers.
Last week, our GM spent some time in Germany reviewing the report from the US with the German R&D team, and trying to recreate the problem in the test cars we used to build the system. Unfortunately at this point, we have been un able to do so. What we are looking for is a car that currently has this noise issue that is able to bring the vehicle to our facilities in Central California. In this way we can investigate the noise to try and find the problem, and therefore a solution for the customers who do have it. If you or anyone you know who has this issue is available to bring the car to us for investigation, please contact our offices directly, and we can setup a time that will work for you to have it in our Sanger CA facility. Only noise I have is the shock compression, which is louder than you would expect, but not unusual.
Other than that, loving my K-Dubbs |

Ladies and Gentlemen
At this point this post has been on the board coming up on three weeks. I have received 1 phone call (I believe from Ferg) regarding the “chirp”. Unfortunately he has not been able to bring us his vehicle, and is not sure weather his noise is related to the same issue others are having. As I stated in my original post, we have not been able to recreate this problem in house, and we need a car that is actually having the issue to see if we can find the source of the problem. Again, if anyone has the ability to bring us there vehicle that is having this noise issue, please contact us directly at the phone number listed below. I thought the problem that most people experience was from improper install (torque-ing the nuts on the fronts). It seems that most threads I have read about the noise issue were resolved with this. At least that is the impression I got before I just bought mine from a member here.
Great, now I just bought them used so i'm sure KW won't fix them if there really is a problem. |

If you are currently experiencing the noise issue that others have, a “chirping” usually coming form the passenger side front, please call our offices directly, and we can sent up a time to bring you in and diagnose the car. i don't have any squeaking - i get a kinda of clunk sound over various bumps - but not all the time.
it usually happens when i am going from high to low pavement. sounds like its coming from the front strut mounts or something..idk - just never took the time to investigate it.. |
