my new ride 325i e92

finally got a replacement for my 320d m sport.
ideally i wanted another diesel, but after weighing up the extra cost over a petrol and the fact that i do 5000miles a year at the most, ive ended up with a e92 325i m sport. Who ever spec,d it new really went to town, black sapphire with cream leather, 19" alloys, sat nav, bluetooth, folding door mirrors, plenty of toys for me to work out. So far I love it. It was registered in northern ireland, so the plate will go pretty soon once i get the log book back.

Very nice. I like the NI plate. At least nobody on mainland UK will have any idea how old it is.

Nice, it must have had a private plate on it as HFZ is not a 2007 reg in NI its a pretty recent one as mine is BFZ and its 2010.

Looks lovely - and it's got all the best options on it (incl. the awesome cream interior!). Well done for actually do the sums beforehand and making the logical decision of going for a lovely 6cyl petrol engine

harsher ride because of the 19" run flats. The engine is very smooth with it being a 6 cyl, over all im very impressed.

Enjoy your lovely naturally-aspirated 6-cyl while you can - seems BMW are ditching what they built their reputation on. BTW, it seems there's a dealer instruction to replace high-pressure injectors IF they fall within certain manufacturing date ranges, whether or not faulty. My 325i (early N53 engine) had no.1 replaced when it failed in June (car went into limp mode). Last week, dealer replaced no.6 when in for routine service, even though it wasn't showing a fault, while 2-5 were left alone. No charge for either replacement, happily. No idea whether this applies to other engines/models or just the N53 with its much-publicised high-pressure fuel pump and injector failures.

Lovely looking car, that!

Just wondering what's your average mpg like? I have a 3L 325i M Sport coupe, and only averaging 18mpg (mainly city driving to work and back, 2.5 miles each journey). It does go to around 40mpg on long runs on the motorway, though. Is yours the 2.5 or 3.0 litre model?

18 sounds very low, my 325 (3.0) never drops below 30.
Never seen it upto 40 either.

mine is the 2.5, not had a chance for a long run yet apart from when i picked it up, so havent really done enough miles to work out mpg, but i did zero the computer and with just a few short trips its showing around 23mpg
