The only time you can overtake is on the straight and that means ON the straight. Not by diving into the corners nose ahead of someone.

This will be asserted in the briefing and anyone trying to push people out the way will be warned and then banned from the track without refund.

I've done more than 10 trackdays and never seen car on car contact. Have seen one or two overcook and end up in the tyres of course but as long as you aren't driving wildly past your limits there shouldn't be any issues.

My helmet arrived today, bit of a snug fit, but should be all good. Looking forward to this one.

Yeah. Real shame. Although 3pm to 5pm look dry. So track will be coming good by end of the day ...

Shame the day was abandoned mid way through,I thought the weather improved in the afternoon.

How many laps did you all get in?
One Guy apparently only did two laps and had made a 800mile round trip!

Pics are up:

Ian: The day has been re-arranged to 23rd Nov. So those who had the big drives will at least get another opportunity for a big drive! Hehe.

The day was called off at lunch as the rain was so heavy and Silverstone weren’t prepared to let us go out.

To their credit, they arranged a new date for us free of charge. I was FULLY expecting them to say “this is the risk of a track day, piss off” – but they didn’t. Superb stuff.

I await Kerr's comments with baited breath

My car was stickerbombed by one of Jason's lackeys at Santapod. Was amusing hearing about the "BW Chiptune car" over the tannoy.

I tried taking the letters off, after about 5 minutes picking at one letter decided I couldn't be bothered.

Will have to get a heatgun to remove the letters. But not in any particular rush. Haven't been in the car since Monday and infact unlikely to drive it until next month at the earliest (Ah, commuting to the office).

I managed 6 laps. 2 spotting laps and 4 with an instructor.

The trouble is, straight after the instruction the track was closed, so I'll probably have forgotten most of it next time.

Glad you've got a already got a date for a rerun,as you say,it's great that they've offered that gratis,as it's quite often the case that some organisers don't give a toss and tell the drivers to 'do one'.
Top marks to the organisers

Quite a mixed bag of cars there yesterday for a BMW trackday, although I do appreciate they do allow other marques.

I'd leave the 'sponsorship' lettering on,and post some pics, the forum needs some livening up
This time of year we only have winter tyre threads to look forward to ,on that subject, will you be running your winter wheels/tyres in November?
