WeissLicht PY24W LED Turn - E90 Error

Hi all,

I bought some LED turn signals for my E90 2006 (Pre-LCI).

Install was fine and they work great.

However I have a problem in that when i cold start the car I get an error saying both:
Turn Indicator Front Right Failure
Turn Indicator Front Left Failure

During this time the indicators tend to flash quite fast if i put on my hazards.

After approximately 30 seconds the error goes away.

Is there any way to get rid of this as when I read or buy something that is error for it means "error free all the time"

I have searched all forums and cant find any one else posting or having this problem.

if any one can help this would be great.

Cheers

Odd... Pre-LCI E90 with PY24Ws? I don't think your vehicle even uses these bulbs, do they? Pics?

The ones we have only work for E90 LCI so that's probably why. They are all the same more or less. The Ecu in the 06-early 07 models is quite touchy when it comes to lighting upgrades.

Jeff thanks for the update. When i purchased the lights it said both pre-LCI and LCI. the codes go away which is great but they do appear for 30 seconds on cold starts. I guess my only option is to remove the checks via coding if i want to keep the LED's or put the standard lights back in.

I assume any LED would cause this kind of issue?

That's correct, you're going to need to get it coded--either by doing it yourself (not too difficult from what I hear, I just need to pick up the software/check my OBDII cable) or by taking it to someone else.

Yea I mean they normally can still work on Pre lci but its really not 100% guaranteed. We have a bunch of guys that say they have em working no problem but we just would rather not say "guaranteed" for those individuals.

The car runs a series of checks when the ignition is on so it likely errors out then.

That's correct. it takes about 30 seconds and then the errors go away. So I assume its not happy with something during that process but then it decides its ok after 30 seconds. I can probably live with this and will most likely take the option to to code the car.

Just a little disappointed this wasn't specified by WeissLicht or JV.

If any one else is experiencing this problem and sorted it out please let me know!

Cheers

You need a 15W resistor for each led bulb.

You'll still get errors with the resisitors.... just find someone to code the car for you to take the bulb out errors ....
