E90 Pre-LCI Mtech front installation
Guys, I need some help with the Mtech front installation. I have read the installation guide from BMW and it's not helping. I am confused with the extension piece that comes with the kit. Where does it go exactly, I thought it goes on like I have shown below, but the problem is that the three holes are short to the bumper itself. There must be something wrong, can anyone who did this themselves help out here? Thanks...
Another thing, I was told that drilling is required here but I am not sure where to drill either.......????

The part that you have pointing to the front right now should be at the back. The piece is suppose to extend the extending undertray out so the screw holes on the bumper will match with the extension piece.
CD is your existing piece and CE is the new piece.

The three holes I have circled are the ones that should line up with the bumper right? Aren't those the ones on the extension piece, or those are the ones on the stock piece? Come on guys help me out here, I hate to see my ride on jacks this whole time!!! Once I can figure it all out I am more than willing to write up a DIY for this~~~~~

Yup, turn it 180 degrees around, and those are the 3 holes you circled should line up with the Mtech bumper. From your 3rd pic, the indent should be on the other side right? (Assuming you bolt the extension piece onto the existing cover already in your pic?) The extension should be flush with the old one. I didn't do it myself, but when I look at my undercarriage, that's what I gather from the photo you have and from the diagram in the instruction.

Hum, I really don't think turning the extension piece around makes a difference. Does the extension piece bolts onto the bottom of the stock undercarriage (like I have in the picture) or the inside of the undercarriage?
I am also wondering if the piece is to extend the undercarriage forward or downward?? As you can see in the picture, the stock undercarriage is short to the bumper and I have seated the bumper all the way in already. I don't see how the extension piece add "length" to the stock piece???

Compare the two pieces separately vs jointed together:
Note dotted line on the joint piece...

Anyways, I have talked to Andy@LTBMW back and forth and he pretty much talked me through the whole process. I have completed the installation and will post some pics up for those who wants to know how to DIY it.
