Can anyone help have a NIP for doing 36mph in a 30mph, We got the letter yesterday dated 30/10/2012 but the date for speeding was 24/8/2012 thats 10 weeks ago today, How do i stand on this? i thought there had 14 days?
I also don't know who was driving the car that day as more than one of us can drive the car and was also in that area on the day. Please help? |

I believe it is anywhere upto 6 months. A few BIB on here who may come along and shed some light on it.

Yes it has to be within 14 days unless you were stopped at the time in which case it can be many months, mind you for 6mph you'd probably get an awareness course rather than a fine & points.
Nevertheless it's outside the statutory time limit so write back and say so. Go to www.pepipoo.com for advice and a sample letter.

If your car is not registered in your name and the prosecuting authorities have taken this amount of time to establish who is the person responsible for the car then you may be buggered.
However if the car is registered in your name then they have no excuse for the delay. |

The car is registered in my partners name, We both used it that day in that area, neither of us saw any camera etc, We have moved this year but we owned both properties at the same time so either way we would of seen it in the post, We also informed the DVLA the day we moved in to the new house and still check old mail at other property,
I was expecting the date on letter to be within 14 days but its dated 3 days ago which is around 9 weeks after the speeding |

I sent an email regarding its taken 67 days for me to get notice, There replywas because i had moved its taken so long to find us (even though we updated the DVLA straight away) He said i can take it to court which i don't want to do, I asked for a picture and this is the reply
I have posted out a copy of the photograph although this is of little value as your car is recorded travelling away from the mobile camera so it is of the rear of your vehicle. I have also enclosed a copy of the original notice sent to your previous address. How the hell can i tell who was driving? What camera works from behind? |

I know for a fact the country road this is on there is no gatso so it would have to be a van or something, Which i thought had to work from the front
