Rear Camber Adj./Kit
A while back I read an article regarding a kit that allowed for a wider camber adjustment range. This allowed a near neutral rear camber setting for "Commuter/Daily Drivers", and an aggressive negative camber for "Track Days".
Situation: Tired of replacing my rear tires every 9,000 miles/each year ($800+). These 255/35R18 runflat tires cost more than my 37X12.50X17 BFG Mud T/A's on my F250 4X4. My wife drives the car in Sunny Southern California 95% of the time. Just trying to get more tread life. The car is driven in town, mostly, with a few trips we take to Vegas, San Diego, Big Bear, etc. I am a "Road Course" guy. I'm Runnin' a NASA prepped Mustang with BIG V-8 Power & BIG $$$ in the chassis (SCCA World Speed Challenge, Long Beach GP, Infineon Raceway, etc., etc., etc.). I understand the negative camber set-up. My wife is an NHRA Girl, doesn't get the "Cornering" thing. She would rather run the 1/4 mile in 8 to 10 seconds at 150+++ MPH. Now, she's driving a BMW. Love the car, love the look, just trying to come up with an acceptable compromise. I have even tried to talk my wife into a new 535, X5, X3, and she just loves that little 330. She drives the BMW mellow, and beats on my Mustang when she's lookin' for a jolt.

If she's in a 330, I doubt it's beating on your mustang (unless it's a V6). If you want best of both worlds, get a N54 car (135 or 335) then put some compitition cup tires/ DR's on it and buy a LSD. Put the mods I have in my sig and you will be putting the beating down on the 1/4 and it will be somewhat "decent" on a road course.
I run in NASA events at Infineon, money well spent

So, just trying to make that little 330 more "Daily Driver" friendly. Tired of replacing rear tires too. Last set was Bridgestone, this set Yokohama, still wearing out in about a year. Inside edge smoothed out, the rest of the tire nearly 100% of tread left. 9,000 miles and 1 year to the day. And the car is driven in town, mostly.

How much do you drive a year? I'm only on my second set of RFTs.
I have a set of summer wheels but I've only had them for about 2 summers. I'm at 64k now so.....about 12.5k a year but bring that down to about 10k miles since I've had my summers. Something doesn't sound right if your only getting 9k miles on a stock setup. |

We're puttin' less than 10,000 miles/year on the car. Got about 62,000+ miles on the car now. Last wheel alignment @ BMW was at the end of 2009. We work & live in the same city, so our commute is 5 miles or less, depending on station assignments. Most of the miles for the year are Freeway Miles. We drive to Vegas, San Diego, Laughlin, Northern Ca., longer distances @ 80-85 MPH. So, mostly straight line "Cruise Control" stuff and MPH+++. We're getting 31 to 32 mpg at 85 mph, so I don't think we're scrubbing. I just think the camber set-up is too negative for the "In Town/Low Speed" & "Freeway Driving" we are doing.

What are your rear camber and toe settings? Velocity Motorcars makes a rear camber adjustment arm for the non-M E9x. Rogue Engineering makes a set for the E9x M3, but I believe that does not work for the non-M cars.

330i rear camber
I just had my wheels aligned at south county and they set the rear at 1.0 neg camber from about 1.5. I would have preferred 0 but they said that was as far as they can go. anyone else have any different setup? I too am sick of having my rears wear out in less than 1 years use. just put on a brand new set of dunlop direzza's and would like them to last for a reasonable amount of time.

What kind of wear did you see on the tires? Was it decidedly camber wear? Otherwise, your toe setting might be off.
