I agree 100%. However, It does make me wonder how a 335D would do in time since they were only RWD and 6AT.

I do sometimes wonder how hard it would be v. Doing a swap. It’s probably about the same level of work.

Probably a similar headache, but a lot more expensive. The federalization process shouldn't be too bad for an E9x, but the paperwork doesn't get any easier if a car happens to all but comply already.

Good point on the Carfax…. lol

I’m also always curious what “clean CarFax” really means. I’ve seen cars that I know had been wrecked with no accidents on the carfax but I’ve also seen cars that got lightly backed into in a parking lot a needed a bumper repainted that have accidents on the carfax. I can’t imagine there are many 15 year old cars that were used as daily drivers that have never had any paint work done at all.

It means they didn’t ever go to a place that reported an accident to carfax.

So maybe no accidents, or maybe Indy body shop, maybe their cousin fixed it on the side, maybe the got parts from junkyard amd swapped on (my sons f30d with “clean carfax” we just bought is the latter, someone swapped the bumper skins but no damage beyond that) etc etc. relatively meaningless.

It’s an auto. It’s not been driven routinely, it’s not US importable, amd it can only be used in the frozen north.

Ooook…..so maybe it’s a bargain for someone in Canada then??? For a car that was never brought to North America and importing logistics/headaches already taken care of, I’d say someone got a great deal regardless of it being an auto.

I’ll be curious to see prices once they can be imported here.

Canadian import paperwork is a hassle... but its also by no means impossible for someone savvy. I do think the auto choice is odd - these (there's a much rougher white one that's been on Craigslist and FB for the last few weeks) seem to have been brought in for the purpose of flipping. Willing to bet they just went for the first M-Sport 335is they could find and pulled the trigger - really manuals could approach the "worth the US federalization hassle," but mystery-history autos, one of which is in really bad cosmetic shape? Not a chance.

That being said, I think the sale price here is probably about at-market for one of these in Europe or Japan, so I think the buyer probably got an OK deal. Doubt the seller is in it for less.

Yeah that’s all the money and a lot more. I love that color combo but xdrive kills it for me, so does iDrive. Guess we will see how much someone is willing to spend just for the colors.

xDrive and the standard seats/steering wheel are the breaking points for me. I honestly don't mind iDrive... satnav in a daily driver isn't something I'll turn my nose up at.

I honestly will never understand why people hate on the iDrive so much. I think it makes the car way more usable, plus it's easier to upgrade if you'd like to put an android headunit or whatever in. The CIC in the facelift cars is definitely worth having. The old CCC was pretty bad.

Even the CCC is hands down better than the mk3 or mk4 sat nav. On e46. And both those are better than not having it.


Idrive is one of my must haves. Makes everything easier to upgrade, tweak, customize etc.
