Since you are looking at the steering wheel all the time from a close distance, unless the taiwan ones are fine painted and polished, or they won't be too pleasing to the eyes. I have never noticed the Taiwan ones, they might be nice too.

btw, anyone knows where I can find good quality black grillie? Good price?
Actually, u don't need to go everywhere to get it. I buy it from Detushland a month before my car arrive and pass it to my sales to install for me. They do have stock for the Truck and hood at that time, I'm not sure they have it or not in this moment. It's a black CF one and it's from BMW. So the quality is guarantee.

I ask them for the Steering wheel emblem and they said they don't have and even not produce before. Not sure they are telling the truth or not.

So, for the steering wheel and the wheel cap, I am using the sticker also. I still have some, if you want it, I bring it out next time.

nice to see they merge together nicely now
the 3m black thin tape should be good enough.
it is definitely illegal not glue a spoiler properly.
yes, many of us went through those same sleepless nights (and left work early or not going to work at all !) when mods started. once, I went to 3 shops to beg them sticking my rear spoiler and no luck; and it took 2 months to hit into a right shop and did it properly in 3 hrs.

Yeah, maybe it is called passion. putting a bit more priority for modifying our lovely car to become more pretty.

btw, please let me know which shop can do the fix-up, I may need it in two weeks time I know it is not fair to you so that I can save up begging 3 shops.

if u refer to sticking a rear spoiler , rdsport 'a usual go-to place in kwai chung has done most of the spoilers and shark fins for some serious demanding members here.
may be you can do the fender respray in one go there
they can glue your fin, spiltters and rear spoiler
once u finish the paint works, see if you can catch up the king of wax b4 HK13.
look like u r progressing pretty well
pls talk to rdsport

That garage installed the CF splitter and rear spoiler for me too. Good job at a slightly expensive price.

The splitters do not need to be glued. They just need to be tightened by screw and taped.

I hate to mention but when BMWHK glued a shark fin for me a few weeks ago, they failed to stick with the 3cm rule. They stuck the fin at the same position as with they were doing a 5er or 7er. Should I really ask them to remove the fin, re-spray my roof and install the fin at the right position again? Sounds crazy but as a demanding customer I am not happy with them.

If the shop provides very good quality service (paint/install), i really dont mind paying alittle* more than other shops (reasonable price of course)

And Can someone explain to me what is the "3cm" rule? Please, thanks!

That's right. I was quite surprised by the casual attitude of BMWHK technicians. When I send in my car to fix rattlings in January I will certainly invite my SA to give his view as to the quality of service provided in installing the shark fin.

Go tommorrow, they haven't received their year-end bonus yet, customer is king.
It is very simple, they made a mistake, they have to fix it.
Respray the roof or not , it is their problem, customer only needs to see end result.

Call Mr. Stephen Lai , head of the TKW center in case anyone stands in your way.
He is a reasonable and helpful person.

If anyone in TKW says anything, I will bring a hammer, call up the press, in front of the TKW entrance, break that fxxking fin off from my E90 and tell them to FO.

No. I don't guess it is needed.
There is very little to argue.
They made a mistake, they will fix it.

If they say it is not a mistake, it is like that;
then ask them to give you an official letter IMMEDIATELY or see their boss, the letter is to state this is the BMW standard (no 3cm rule)
and all cars been done by them and will go to get done by them will
have the same non-3cm rule fin glued.

Get this letter from BMWHK, copy it to the BMW HQ in Germany and stage a compliant that this is what BMWHK is glueing a E90 fin.

If they beg me not to do it, then I want them to provide me a loaner car until they have fixed this problem.

I dont think you need to explain to them anything, they should know they made a mistake.

I think BMWHK has wasted enough of all our time.
I don't think anyone should be patience with them anymore.
Look at this, the shop simply don't have enough training on doing body works.

Thanks brothers!

Sounds good they can be done in one shot. I was preparing to try if I can DIY for the splitters and spoiler, and if there is a shop can also help me to improve the painting/finishing, definitely good re-consideration!

If HK13 will be some time in March, definitely I should get it done before that. In fact, I want a new look for CNY to 拜年.

Probably the last one for this first batch of mod is a set of coilover... others on the wishlist will be in another batch for 2008 -> to apply budget

RD, please, let me know the address and contact...

If they say it is not a mistake, it is like that;
then ask them to give you an official letter IMMEDIATELY or see their boss, the letter is to state this is the BMW standard (no 3cm rule)
and all cars been done by them and will go to get done by them will
have the same non-3cm rule fin glued.

Yap, customers always right. Though there could be foolish people, but they should not be that stupid enough to ignore a customer complaining about something deserved. No arguement on this one and we as customer should not step back.

You see the problem here.

Only BMW cars have so many fxxking aftermarkets mods.

I have not seen a Benz needs to go to Zung Fu to get a fin glued or a sportier steering wheel to replace.

The shop should know better than anyone how to do body works properly if they want to make the bucks out from the owners. And, obviously I think they do want our money as so many aftermarkets kits they promote e.g. M-Sport kit.

Nick's fin must have been glued up by a guy who only have glued E60s b4.
Or there will be more than 1 guy gets non-3cm rule fin

So, it is their stupid mistake. They better fix it quick and fix it properly.
