Just a quick note- does anyone have a small folding table that they could bring to the meet, on which to rest the portable gass BBQ? Thanks. Viv |

Anyway - cutting a long story short we ended up at the grand prix collection at donnington park. There was a kit car event there today and they herded everyone down to the main car park by the convention centre, I didn't realise I could have driven back round and parked in front of the museum (museum car park was empty) suffice to say I think it may well be the same next week. Oh ... and the museum is excellent ... I didn't know much about it, but they have a lot of interesting stuff - especially grand prix - highlight for me was nigel mansells car from 1985 GP and the car senna drove to a win at donnington. |

If anyone has signed up to or would like to bring plates, cups, utensils, and the like, that would be helpful. It would be most helpful for all if you can identify in the thread what you plan to bring so we don't end up with 600 plates and nothing to put on them. For example, I'm bringing the grill and the gazebo and some bratwurst and Italian sausage to grill. Quote:
So far we have 18 signed up but ScBlacksunshine won't make it, reducing it to 17. Viv, have I left anything out? For those that haven't signed up yet, I need a couple of days' notice in order to make up the number plate covers. Mickey (Marilyn), do you still have the 6x12 number plate on the front?

We need it for Floyd's (SoYank) portable gas-powered BBQ. If you have any flock wall paper to go with that, we could set up our own little 'Donington Indian Restaurant' in the gazebo- I'm pretty sure we could sell a few 'Tandoori' burgers to anyone visiting the museum & the track! Quote:
This should let us cook some food, irrespective of the weather. Ruffy (RR- what's your real name?) is bringing some sweets, snacks & drinks & I'll bring some burgers & sausages. But, it would be good if everyone could bring something to cook on the BBQ for yourselves. I'm quite happy to share my stuff, as long as you're not a vegetarian (sorry Hiten), but it would be nice if others brought some BBQ food to share with the others. Quote:
I think you've pretty much covered everything Floyd. A quick summary of posts, just for you, Paul: 1 We're meeting at the museum car park at 12pm, but I'll set off to get there before 11am, in case it is busy & we need to change the meeting point. Floyd is going to join the northern convoy, as are you, I hope, Paul? Craig (Flyingdwarf) is unsure about where he'll be next Saturday, but may still join us. 2 If we need to change the meeting point, it will be Elvaston Castle: DE72 3EP. 3 We've got Floyd bringing a gas-powered BBQ & gazebo, in case it rains. 4 Bring some food to cook on the BBQ. 5 We've got a convoy route planned from Donington Park to Belvoir Castle- have a look here. 6 The 'Indian Nights' restaurant in Keyworth has been booked for us at 6pm- I've already put you down as '1' for the meal, Paul. You can see the menu here. 7 I flashed a Fart Panto to let it out of a side road & now I find my front right indicator bulb is knackered- the dealer tried to charge me to replace it & I told him where to go! That's most of what you've missed Paul! Your wife is certainly invited- the more the merrier. All the best. Viv |

If anyone else can bring stuff for the BBQ (condiments etc), then please could you say so. For those who have not said if they intend coming for the meal at the restaurant in the evening, please could you do so NOW- if you don't say, I will assume you DO NOT intend coming. Thanks. Viv

Sadly, I will not be able to make the curry as I will have my partner and children with me.
Looking forward to the day though and putting some names to faces!

Really sorry guys but I will not be able to make the meet now.
I'm gonna be out the country on business Friday and won't be returning until saturday PM. Totally unavoidable and just spent the morning trying to make alternative arrangements but no can do. I'm gutted as I was looking forward to meeting you guys, comparing notes and showing off my new pride and joy. |

I was quite looking forward to seeing your SG pup! Also, I just got back from the dealer, about my faulty front-right indicator bulb. Surprisingly (since I've never got on with that particular dealer, not bought the car from them, test drove one of their car's last year for a day to decide if it was for me & then imported it anyway!), they didn't even ask me about any charge to fit the bulb, no mention of warranty & no other problem whatsoever! They were going to wash the car as well, but I told them I'd already done that for the meet on Saturday! Strange how nice they can be...sometimes! The handbrake is less 'tight' now....but I can live with that...for now! Viv

I'm almost shocked that they didn't take the old bulb out, throw it on the ground, drive the car's tyres over it several times & then tell me I needed 4 new runflats as well as a new bulb! Viv
