Help with advice and DIY for changing front control arms

I am about to change the control arms on my 2006 325xi. I have looked at a lot of different sites and can not find a good DIY for the xi model. Looking for help with torque specs and how to do it correctly. I have seen that you have to tighten the bushings while they have the load on them and was wondering what the best way to do this is. I have lemforder front control arms I bought on FCPEuro. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Same as RWD. Plenty of DIYs, just brush up your google-fu. Torque specs are on newtis.
To load the bushings properly is easy. Tighten them up only to the point where you can't wiggle them by hand. Then take the car off the jacks, put it on ramps, and torque.

Get a Bentley Repair Manual. Yep, they are $100.00. However, I can't tell you how many times I have used it.

I have a Bentley manual and I love it. Just always love getting any tips and advise I can. It just doesn’t say how to load the suspension. Obviously with it on the ground I can’t get under there to tighten them since it is already so low I can’t squeeze underneath. Trying to figure out how I’m gonna manage that.

Didn’t even think about putting it on ramps. Great idea. Thanks. Was trying to figure out how to be able to have the suspension loaded and get under there to tighten them.

I drive mine up on ramps & then jack up the car & put it on jack stands in the front. From there, I jack up the rear of the car & put it on jack stands too.

I think I can get the car something like 17-18" off the ground. Maybe even 19" idk.

You can get a quality set if 3 ton jack stands for about $50.00. Look up Torin Big Red Jack Stands.

A quality jack might run you $150 - 200.00.

3 ton Jack - Powerzone 380044 3 Ton Aluminum and Steel Garage Jack

Rhino Ramps are the best.

Or

You can splurge at Costco and spend around $1050.00 and get a portable hydraulic whole car jack. Quick Jack 5000. That will be my next "major" purchase once the turbos go.
