Everyday Watch...

Hi,

Anyone into their watches... I am.

I have a Tag Monaco Chronograph which I try and keep for going out etc... but after an everyday watch. No bigger that 42mm as I have skiny wrists...

Although I'm trying to keep it sub £1k, I'm very tempted by some of these:

Bell & Ross: BR03 Aviaton - £2100

Fortis: B42 Marinemaster - £1155

ORIS: Divers Der Meistertaucher Set - £1174

Ball: Night Train - £773

Any others I should have a look at ?

Mmmmm, I do like the IWCs .. I had a day tour of the IWC factory. Amazinginly fastidious attention to detail in all areas of design and construction. Real eye-opener to what goes into building a quality watch. Tried on a couple of ridiculous show-piece watches - Massive boys in Gold, they weighed a ton ! Hardly practical.

I liked their old sexist adverts in German

"Fast so kompliziert wie eine Frau. Aber pünktlich"

Almost as complicated as a woman, but punctual

"Passt auch zu rocken, in Schottland"

Goes well with a skirt, in Scotland. I had a copy of that on my office wall.

Classy under-stated watches.

D.

Lovely time pieces, but a watch over £200 is about 1000th on my list of things to buy. Mine (£110) tells the time perfectly and seeing as I tend to bump and scratch them expensive watches are a no-no for me.

still, a tad envious of those with super-nice watches..... just can't ever see me spending big money on one unless I win the good ol' lottery!

Tool Watch !

This beast is designed to be worn classic piece of kit.I have two of these one is circa 1993 and the one in the pic 08 .
The 93 is worth more now than it cost and has been given to my father to enjoy until he pops his clogs then it will go back into the safe

I would think if you had £2k you would find a solid shand one and it will be good for 50 years .

What do you want the watch for work/timekeeping /prestige

Some of the latest Omegas are very affordable My local AD sent me some sales offers through massive savings Small problem is i have a couple of tasty pieces on order this year otherwise id have been very very tempted

I had an Omega Seamaster Mid Size, perfect everyday watch, but a bit small and a quartz movement.

After something more prestigious, something an engineer would go all gooie over... I'm a techy person, not bling. If I could fit my M3's V8 on my wrist I'd wear it !

Someone has sugested a Breitling Superocean Heritage... and it's ticking a lot of the boxes (probably the only Breitling I like)... but just noticed it's 46mm... I think anything over 42mm will be too big for an everyday comfy watch

I normally wear a breitling as my everyday watch, one of them is a breitling Avenger Skyland thats a 46mm and it's not too big.

Give it a try you might be surprised.
