So who's blind now, vasillalov ?

Hang on a minute... Did you or did you not get the F30 calipers? If those are indeed F30 calipers, then what is this brembo leaflet doing there?

...then this means we can forget about the F30 bigger rotors as well.

Since there are three posts going... what is the part number for these: http://www.f30post.com/forums/attach...6&d=1327362776

And is HPA going to make adapter kits? Are the performance brakes the same as the F30?

That is still possible, but you will have to use the F30 front spindle and possibly the struts too.

Ok, here is what I'm getting. Harold, correct me if I'm wrong. It seems like there are 4 "products" here that people are asking about:

1-f30 performance brakes (calipers, rotors, lines, pads)
2-brembo part #98.5030.40
3-calipers in the first post w/ e90 rotors
4-calipers in the first post w/ f30 rotors

1 & 4 are essentially the same. Look at the current e8x/9x "performance brakes". Essentially they are just repainted 135i calipers with fancy rotors. So, it stands to reason that the f30 "performance" calipers are the same as the stock calipers, with a simple dress up kit.

3 & 4: It is a simple caliper bracket upgrade in order to use the f30 calipers on an otherwise unmodified e90. However, the f30 brake rotors will not fit on an e90 due to carrier/spindle incompatibility. So, if you want the bigger rotors, the swap snowballs into basically having to replace most of the front suspension.

2: Is the biggest mystery to me. There are two potential reasons for this. The first is that the caliper is that brembo part number, but BMW specifies the specifics (piston sizes, pad sizes, etc). More likely (from what I've seen from other vendors) is that the brembo pamphlet is a generic pamphlet that is included with a variety of brake calipers from Brembo's OEM stuff. Clearly those 8 piston calipers are not the same as the 4 piston ones we're looking at. Even though, the OP in the audi thread purchased those parts OEM.

I think people are confused because of the performance brake option. It is essentially the same caliper with some fancy paint on it, that is it.

This kit in R&D will not have larger rotors, but instead using stock size E9x rotors for the sake of keeping cost down. Otherwise we just end up at the cost of an aftermarket BBK and one may as well purchase one of those for the true two-piece rotors with increased heat capacity and better vane design for cooling, not to mention the thicker plates use to reduce temperature spikes and extend heating and cooling off cycle, but that is another thread altogether. Harold,

Thanks for clearing this up! Question: will the kit you are making be able to clear the stock wheels?

U could pair the calipers with the Z435is 2-piece rotors and your golden.

Thanks for clearing it up. I think I am following now.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I remember seeing a 2 piece rotor out there that works with the stock e9x 335 calipers. Although from what I remember about the price you might as well get a BBK from brembo or Stoptec.

The other thing I want to verify is we are looking at 335's here right? I know the 335's are different from the other 3 series at least in the e9x realm. Thanks

What about 328/325 fitment? I know there are several people with 335 brakes on their 328, but those are floating calipers that can adjust to different offsets. If the rotor offset is different between the 328 and 335, you'll have issues with a solid caliper. Hopefully it's just a matter of making a different caliper bracket.
