335i turbo issue
I have a 2007 335i with cobb tune, it is making a, id like to say loud squealing type noise under full boost, 14 psi with cobb. It is not the boost noise. mechanic is saying he wants to replace to my turbo but I am highly doubtful its the turbo.
I dont have excel on this computer so i cant post the logs, i can post data if need be, but when you view the logs it shows under normal boost a normal graph, when running extra boost on cobb it shows the fueling and boost kind of an up and down spike all the way through the graph, going up down up down. It throws a 30fe in third gear around 100, and throws dtml fine leak and fuel pump plausibility on the occasional start up. btw the noise seems to come from the front right area of the hood. Anybody experienced the same symptoms? Or have any idea what is making that noise and causing the boost and fueling to spike and drop like that? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

Loud squealing noise underboost? Probably a boost leak.
If it sounds more mechanical then air then it very well could be a mechanical problem I.E. turbo. You are only making 9 PSI at 6000 RPM. You are not meeting any requested load or anything. Start checking for leaks. Pre intercooler. Post intercooler and Vac lines. |

They just got done with the smoke test.
They claimed that everything was just fine except a tiny leak pre turbo. |
